I Love My Mom

Okay, I know I was kind of hard on my mom last week because of the monster thing, but she made up for it this weekend. My Mom is the best! I am really tired and sore now, but it's a good tired and sore feeling. Friday night Mom played fetch with me for a long time with my rope, then Saturday she threw my tennis ball a lot and the boys came to play and then Sunday she threw it again on Sunday and then we went to Grandma's Sunday afternoon and she threw my frisbee. I am so tired now that I can barely keep my eyes open. I was a little sore last night from running so much and Mom massaged my back a little. SHE'S THE BEST!! I didn't get to wake her up Saturday or Sunday morning because I was so tired. She got out of bed before I did! She was trying to get pictures of me swimming in my water dish and I made it difficult for her so I guess that's my payback to her. On Sunday I also helped Mom bake Easter cookies! Here's a bunch of pictures from this weekend.

Here I am playing fetch with my rope in the house Friday night. We really need a bigger house. There isn't much space to run in the house to chase my rope. Sasha even got in on the fun a little bit.

Here I am playing in the backyard.

To show what a great Mom she really is, look at my ball. She picks that up and throws it! There are a lot of people that wouldn't touch that ball, but my Mom kept picking it up and throwing it for me.

This is me helping Mom with cookies. This is a side view and a front view. This is usually what I look like after I help Mom bake. I help her keep the floor clean because she's REALLY REALLY messy!
After we finished the cookies, it was time for some more fetch and a rest in the shade. Mom forgot her camera when we went to Grandma's. Grandma's back yard is soooooo cool! It's huge and it has grass all over it! It's a perfect shape for playing fetch and there's trees to rest under and she has a covered patio perfect for laying on the cement to get cooled off.
That's enough pictures for one day I think. Check back tomorrow for "How To Swim In Your Water Dish."

Resting

I've been spending most of the day resting and getting ready for this weekend. Both Mom and Dad are home this weekend so I plan on being busy with that, but I also plan on getting back at Mom this weekend. She's been really tired since Monday night when I had my bad dreams because of her. Every night she's woken up at 2 am and can't get back to sleep (that's what time I woke her up Monday night). She says tomorrow she is sleeping in. Ummmm, no she isn't! hehehehe She will be woken up early and will be kept awake by a very hyper black lab that wants to play fetch. I made sure I was well rested for tomorrow. Dad is planning on getting up early to start working on Jeeps so I'm not worried about him getting mad because he wants to sleep in. Sunday he might though so that's why I'm paing Mom back on Saturday! hehehehe
Have a great weekend everybody! And don't forget to watch out for the monsters!

It Got Worse!

Look at this! Can you see that? There I was enjoying a chewie and it happened!

Here's a closer look!

It attached itself to my tail! I tried to ignore it, but it's kind of hard to ignore something that is attached to your tail!! Then you know what happened when I messed with it? Get this! Mom said "Becareful with that one. I don't think it's going to last much longer." Can you believe that? It's attacking my tail and she wants ME to be careful! I went outside after Mom rescued my poor tail and when I came back in, it was already wherever it goes at night. I have got to figure out where they hide at night! I'm going to start watching a little more carefully to see what happens before and after it's attached to Mom's head. There isn't one today. I'm very happy about that because Dad is home today and we're going to do some yard work. As soon as I figure out where those monsters stay at night I'm going to break all their teeth out and then go dig a hole (which I haven't done in a long time) and put it in the hole and cover it up with dirt, tree branches, rocks and maybe get Dad to park a Jeep on it!
Dad's almost ready for me to come help him now so I better go. Hopefully there won't be any monster sightings for awhile.

The Chair

From your comments on the monster it looks like it could have actually bitten me!!! I'm a little nervous today. I saw another one attached to Mom's head this morning. This one looks old and weak though. Hopefully nothing will happen with this one.
Last night I slept really good. Dad got my rope out and Mom and Dad played fetch with me for awhile and then I took it to bed with me. Mom says they should let me sleep with my rope every night! Sounds good to me!!! Mom and Dad put it away once in awhile because I start tearing it up and then there's little strings all over the house. This way it stays together longer and I can play with it more and not have to wait for Christmas or my birthday for a new one.
Okay, now about the chair. This weekend Mom said she wanted to get rid of the chair that we use because it's kinda gross and it makes the room kind of crowded. This is what happened when Gunnar found out Mom wants to get rid of the chair. He decided he was going to hold it down. Since he's a big cat and can give dirty looks, he decided he was going to make it his mission to keep the chair. He's also mad at Mom because he clipped his nails this weekend. (I love Mom for that!!!) Gunnar and I tried to remind Mom of all the times she's told us how cute we were in the chair. I told her that I use the chair a lot in my guard duty routine. The chair is in a perfect spot for me to look out the window. It's also in a perfect spot for Gunnar to sit and look out the front door when people walk in and out. He likes to feel the breeze and since he doesn't even think about trying to get out (he's afraid to go outside) it's a good place for him to enjoy the breeze without getting stepped on. When people come over, the front door is a crazy place to be because Sasha and I get so excited about people being here to see us.
This morning Gunnar and I convinced Mom that we do use the chair a lot. Sasha was focussed on showing Mom that she uses the bed a lot so she didn't join us. (We tried telling her that they aren't going to get rid of the bed!) We even told Mom that we would use it at the same time and be nice to each other. Plus it's a good place to put the blanket I use in the living (it's the scooby blanket you see in the picture) and if the chair is there, the bones are usually under the chair or right beside it so Mom and Dad don't step on them (see one there on the floor in front of the chair).
So everything is ok with the chair and I can focuss complety on the monsters now. I'm still not sure where they come from. I'm not coming up with anything in my internet research that's helpful. I must be using the wrong search words. I'm not giving up though! Especially since there's been 2 sightings in 1 week! I'm hoping this one doesn't attack tonight. I really want to play with my rope some more tonight. If any of you have any advice on the monster thing please let me know. From the comments left so far, it sounds like things could get much worse.

The Monster

I have to warn all of you about a terrible monster!!! It's terrible and horrible and very mad! This is a picture of it. Be sure you get a good look at it. They come in different colors and different sizes. This is a bigger sized one. You might first see them attached to your Mom's head when it's warm outside. I've never seem them during the winter, but as soon as it starts getting warm outside I see them attached to Mom's head and then when it gets dark outside then they usually detach from her head and are laying on the coffee table until bedtime and then they dissapear. Last night when it detached from Mom's head, it was in her hand and it turned and started showing it's teeth at me so I barked and barked and barked at it. Mom wasn't helping me at all! She just kept laughing. Dad was in the bathroom and I kept barking for him to come help, but I guess since Mom was laughing he didn't think it was anything bad. I think from now on he'll listen to me though! This went on for quit awhile and of course Mom got the camera out! Here's apicture of me trying to ignore it. See it there in the bottom left corner? Ignoring didn't seem to help any. I thought about throwing one of Mom's sandals you see there on the floor at it, but I'm not very good at throwing and even though after awhile I thought Mom deserved to be hit in the face because she kept laughing at a very serious situation, I decided I better not.
So it finally stopped trying to attach me and Dad came out and asked what in the world was going on and Mom told him (of course she was still laughing) and then Dad laughed and we went outside. When we came back inside, the monster was gone and Mom was getting ready for bed so it must have gone to where ever it goes when it's not attached to her head or trying to attach dogs. That made me very happy (look at my tail! It's up in it's normal position, but still sore if I mess with it too much).
So we went to bed and I kept having nightmares about the monster. At 2 am I finally decided I couldn't sleep anymore. So I got up and started pacing. Nobody else wanted to get up with me and I was bored and it was dark and I didn't want the monster to attack me in the dark when everybody was asleep. So I whined and paced until Mom finally woke up and scooted over and I jumped up and layed in her arms. I made sure she had both arms wrapped around me though for protection. She kept moving and couldn't get comfortable which was really annoying. Dad ended up shutting his alarm clock off so that they could sleep until Mom's went off since he really didn't have to be into work early if he coudln't make it. He made it in for his early time though. Every time Mom came into the bedroom while she was getting ready for work she called me a goofy dog and a butthead! Can you believe she'd call ME names when it was her fault?! If she had stopped the monster from trying to attack me, then we would have both slept good last night!
So watch out for the monsters! Dogs seem to be the only ones that know the seriousness of them. And if anybody knows where they go during the cold days and when it's dark, let me know. I also need to figure out why it attaches to the back of Mom's head. Maybe it's doing something to her brain and that's why she was laughing instead of helping. I'm going to do some research on the internet about this. Maybe if I figure out how to get them to stay away, then maybe Mom's brain will go back to normal and she'll change her mind about getting rid of my chair! I'll let you know what I find out in my research.

Spring Cleaning

Mom said this weekend she was going to do some spring cleaning and only got the living room done. I'm not happy because in this spring cleaning she decided to get rid of my chair!!! She said it's gross and we really don't have room for it. She also pointed out that I spend most of my time on the couch anyway. It's not a very comfy chair, but it's my chair! To top it off Mom washed all our blankets! It was really hard to sleep last night because my blanket didn't smell right. I will admit my blanket in the living room did need washed. That is one blanket that is easier to snuggle up in now. Sasha said she was glad her blanket got washed, too. Mom says she needs to do that more often because they were all pretty nasty and so was the washing machine when she was finally done. Next time I'm going to try to hide my blanket!
I didn't get the picture of me swimming in my water dish because it rained Saturday and it really wasn't warm enough to swim on Sunday and I 'm not supposed to swim in the inside water dish. Hopefully I'll get it soon though. Mom and Dad laugh really hard when I do it - if it's outside. It's TONS of fun and is a fast way to cool off your feet.
I'm going to go spend some time in my chair now. I don't know when Mom is going to get rid of it so I have to spend as much time with it as possible.

A WONDERFUL Day!

First I want to send out good puppy vibes to the Brat Pack. They lost Dakota this morning. It's really hard loosing a family member, especially one loved as much as I know Dakota was. I just lost my cousin Dakota not long ago and even though I never met her, loosing her was hard, too.

Okay, know to tell you about today! First Dad is off today. A little after Mom left for work Dad took us for a ride in my Aunt Cassie's Jeep! I LOVE JEEP RIDES! Last night Dad told me we were going to get to go with him so I kept trying to get the leash of the hook this morning to remind him. He laughed and said I was way too smart! So we drive for awhile and then we pull up in front of the groomers. Sasha and I went in and they trimmed my nails and gave me a cookie and I was done. I only have soft dirt to run in so my nails don't file down on their own like they should. I don't mind going to the groomer. Last time I got a tennis ball! Sasha had to stay there. It made me nervous leaving her there. I know Mom and Dad would never give us away, but when you've been left as much as I have, you still worry sometimes. Dad and I went to visit my friend Chuck. He's the guy I get up early with when we're camping for a morning cup of coffee (he drinks the coffee and I fetch sticks for him to throw). I got to visit him at work and everybody he works with told me how pretty and smart I am. After we left there, Dad and I stopped and got some hamburgers. I had to wait to eat my hamburger because I had to share with Sasha. We picked Sasha up and I split my hamburger with her and we came back home. Mom came home for lunch and threw the stolen tennis ball for me for awhile and babied Sasha for awhile. Sasha felt better without all the fur, but she still gets mad when she gets left at the groomer's so Mom has to baby her for a few days so she won't be mad at Mom anymore - I think Sasha just knows how to make Mom feel guilty. Then I went outside when Mom left and helped Dad with some yard work and then it started to rain so I came in the house and Dad went to work on cleaning the garage. I'm really tired now!
Peanut asked about how I swim in my water dish. I'll try to get Mom to take a picture of me swimming in my OUTSIDE water dish. Mom and Dad get really mad when I do it in the inside water dish. It's the best way to cool off when you don't have a swimming pool. Dad says we can't get a regular swimming pool because I'd be in it all the time and that'd be hard on the filters. I think he just doesn't want to mess with setting it up and taking it down every year. Once the yard grows Mom wants to get me a kiddie pool. If I had one right now then I'd track mud in all the time and she doesn't want that. If anybody has any advice on how to make the grass grow, please let me know ASAP! It's sort of growing in spots, not spots that are much help to me though - like the front yard and along the edges of the deck and walkway.
I better go now, Dad should be coming to let me back out since it stopped raining.
Have a good weekend everybody!

Busy Evening

I had a very busy evening last night. First, Mom went outside and threw my rubber stick for awhile. Then, Grandma came over to pick some stuff up and to have dinner and then we went outside and the neighbors were outside playing catch and I stole one of their tennis balls! Then one of the girls came over and threw the ball for me for a really really really long time! IT WAS GREAT! Mom tried to get my picture, but she said I was too fast. I even showed off a little. I did my sit and stay trick. The neighbors were really impressed cuz their dogs don't do any tricks! Can you believe they don't even know how to sit?!?! How do they get treats if they don't sit? If Mom or Dad get near the treat jar, I sit immediately to save time! After the little girl went home, we went inside and I was really hot. Mom must be psychic because as soon as I got to the water dish and started drinking she said "NO swimming!" How did she know I was going to do that? I was so hot I layed in the hallway for awhile because it has hardwood floors. I was so tired frrom all the fetching, I layed on the floor by Mom's feet and I slept. Dad had to wake me up when it was time to go outside!
I LOVE playing with kids! Mom and Dad should get me some!

Learn From A Dog

My Mom was going through some stuff at work and she found something called: If a dog were your teacher, you would learn:, I think it's kind of funny and my tail is hurting again so I can't think very well today so I decided to post it. Here it is.
If a dog were your teacher, you would learn:
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.
Let other's know when they've invaded your territory.
Take naps. Stretch before rising.
Run, romp and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple grwol will do.
On warm days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
When you are happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you are scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout...run right back and make friends.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.
Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you are not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
And finally, never trust anyone until you sniff their butt.

Happy Tail

Did you know there's a condition called "Happy Tail?" I had no idea!!! Mom was talking to a guy she works with yesterday about my tail and he said he had a lab that had "Happy Tail." You can actually break your tail from wagging it! The guy said his dog broke her tail 3 times from Happy Tail. Dogs can either hit it on something or not and it can break. He said his dog hit her tail on a board on the porch the first time and the next 2 times it was in that same spot and she was just wagging her tail. Mom and Dad said my tail isn't broke, but they think it's simialr. Dad said he was watching me come in the back door the other day and I hit the doorway in about the same spot. Mom said when Sasha and I argue over who gets to go out the door fist, I usually hit my left him on the same doorway. So they're thinking that I suffer from Happy Tail! Who knew!?!?!?!?
Grandma is coming by at lunch so I have to go take a nap so I'm ready when she gets here. Watch out for Happy Tail everybody, well except for those of you that have tails like Peanut.

What A Weekend!

I was really busy all weekend. Everybody keeps making fun of Mom getting outsmarted by the cat. Since the morning it happened, Gunnar has gotten a bigger attitude. I've been helping put him back in his place though. I spent all weekedend making up for not feeling good most of the week and now I'm exhausted! I even got to see Bailey! I could only look out through the window though because Mom doesn't want me to catch anything Bailey might have. She still isn't feeling good from when she ran off. She's better, but she's still not eating a lot and still has diaherea. Mom thinks some of it is stress from Dakota and my aunt had to give Bruitis back to the pound people. She couldn't keep him in the 8 foot fence. He was even starting to get out at night and run off. Then my aunt decided Bailey couldn't be alone so she got a 4 month old blue heeler for Bailey to have a little brother. Once Bailey is feeling a little better and once the new dog gets used to having people pay attention to him, I'll get to play! The new dog is a rescue dog. His old family were "backyard breeders" and they decided they didn't want to do it anymore so they were getting rid of all the dogs for free. Mom said people were coming and getting the dogs like crazy. One of her friends took 3! Mom said the dogs had pretty much no human contact and they had NEVER been in a house before! I can't remember my new cousin's name, but my aunt said he didn't know what to do in the house, but he is potty trained. His coat is really think too since he spent all winter (remember he's also only 4 months so he spent the first 4 months of his life in the cold) outside with only a dog house for protection from the bad winter we had. Can you believe that?!?!?!?! It makes me mad when dogs aren't taken care of!!! Luckily though it looks like all the dogs are finding good homes and will be okay.
I'm going to go take a much needed long nap now. Hope everybody else had a good weekend!

My Mom Was Outsmarted By The Cat!

I don't usually post on the weekend, but this HAS to be posted today. Mom is outside fighting with the bushes so I decided to hop on real quick and tell you this HILARIOUS story! I'd be totally embarassed if Gunnar (my little cat brother) outsmarted me like that!
Okay, this morning Mom, Sasha and I were doing our normal sleeping in on a Saturday Dad works and Gunnar was doing his normal bug everybody that's in bed thing he does EVERY morning. He does this thing where he reaches up and smacks the window. During the winter, Mom and Dad keep the blinds down and closed so it makes a lot of noise when the blinds smack against the window and it's EXTREMLY annonying. Well, Mom started keeping the squirt bottle in the bedroom for these times when we want to sleep in and Gunnar is being a major pain in the neck. Mom squirted him once and he ran off, then he came back 2 more times and then he ran off and we thought that was going to be it. Mom had the bottle on the edge of the bed and I was laying at the bottom of the bed and Sasha was up by Mom's chest (between Mom and the squirt bottle). Gunnar jumped up on the bed and sat behind Mom for awhile. We all thought he was going to come up and lay down, too. NOPE! (This is the funny part!!) He jumped over Mom missing Sasha, swung his butt towards the bottle, made sure the bottle hit the floor and then jumped back over Mom and ran off. IT WAS HILARIOUS!!!! HE DID IT ON PURPOSE!!! A few minutes later he came back in slapped the window once just out of spite and then came up on the bed with us for awhile longer. Mom decided right after that, that it was time to get up and get things done. I still can't believe she was outsmarted by the cat. When Dad came home for lunch Mom told him the story and he thought it was pretty funny, too. I think Mom has decided it was, too.
Later, Mom got me. About this time a year and once during the summer, Mom takes her house plants outside and adds dirt to them or replants them if they need it and then gives them a good soaking of water to clean the dust off and soak up their roots real good and then lets them enjoy the sun for a couple hours and then brings them inside. Well, she was almost out of water in the water jug and I was up on the porchminding my own business and she poured water on me! I was surprised at first and kind of mad, but then I realized it was fun water and I ran and ran and ran and ran and ran and ran all over my yard. So much for the bath last weekend! I'm really tired now. When Mom goes out to bring the plants back in in a little while, I'm going to go with her and help again. After she gets the plants in, she'll have to clean the dirt off the deck with WATER!! She said if it wasn't too big of a pain right now, she'd get the hose out. Dad hasn't gotten the hoses out for spring yet though so she'd have to first find them and then try to get them out of their winter storage spot and then try to hook them up and then afterwards, put them away because we're still supposed to be getting snow again pretty soon. She says for now it's easier to just carry buckets out for now. I REALLY like being sprayed with the hose, but, buckets are fun, too. She said she would put water in my outside water dish wo I can put my feet in it. I love this weather!!!!!
I'm going to go take a quick nap now while Mom finishes a few things in the house and then it's back outside! Tomorrow Dad is cleaning out the garage some more which means I get to be outside most of the day tomorrow, too!!! This is a GREAT weekend! Hope everybody else is having a great weekend! OH! and those of you that have cat brothers and sisters, be sure not to tell them about my brother, you wouldn't want to give them any ideas - even though it was really funny to watch!!

I'm All Sorts Of Better!

Chasing my tail most of the dau yesterday turned out to be a good idea. My tail is almost in it's normal position and there's hardly any swelling. I really wish I knew what happened so I'll know not to do that again! I also found out there is no such thing as real magic cheese. Mom and Dad were hinding little pink pills in the cheese! I just thought eating cheese made me feel better until one of the pills fell out of the cheese and Mom had to rewrap part of it. It's okay, we'll still call it magic cheese because it makes us feel much better.
I'm really hyper today because I'm feeling so much better. I raced Sasha to the back door this morning. Mom said "Holy Cow!" when she saw me running at her. It was hilarious! She didn't expect to see me running at her that fast. She said it was good to see me run again. It FEELS good to run again!!!
Mom should be home pretty soon for lunch and I can't wait to go outside and run again. It's warm outside and the sun is out and I'm full of energy!!!!
Last night Dad joined Mom and I on the couch and I got lots of ear scratching and belly rubs. Sasha even curled up in the the bed Mom put by the fireplace for Gunnar to use. Gunnar's upset I'm feeling better so he hid in the bedroom where he normally does at night. Someone needs to tell that cat how much fun cuddling is - but then I'd have to share Mom and Dad even more so maybe it is okay that he doesn't like to cuddle.
Anyway, have a great weekend everybody! I plan on spending most of it outside. Mom will be home most of tomorrow and Dad will be home most of Sunday so I can spend as much time as I want outside. We got baths last weekend so I've got to try to get this funky coconut smell off of me.
WOOHOO!!! I'M HYPER TODAY!! WOOHOO!!!!
Bye!

I'm Feeling GOOD!

I'm feeling soooooo much better! This is me this morning. I've been chasing my tail most of the morning and Mom caught me as I was stopping to get undizzy. See how the carpet looks stained off to the right near the blue thing. That's cuz I tried swimming in my water dish. I'm ready for summer!

I want to wrestle REALLY bad! Mom and Dad said I can't wrestle until my tail is up in the correct position. As you can see in this picture, it's not up yet. That's why I've been chasing it all morning. I've been trying to get it back in the correct position. It's still a little sore but most of the swelling has gone down. Dad is off work today so as soon as he gets back from running some errands, I'm going to try to convince him that he should wrestle with me.

I was also given the definate no on going to the vet last night. WOOHOO!!! I'm going to go work on my tail some more before Dad gets back. I can't wait to wrestle!!!!

Bed Rest

I was on bed rest yesterday. Monday night when Mom and Dad got home from work, my tail was hurting and I couldn't get comfortable laying down or sitting. I couldn't figure out why and then as the night went on I was in a lot of pain. Dad noticed I wasn't holding my tail up when I wagged and then Mom found the swelling on my tail and my left hip. It hurt a lot. I have no idea what I did. It just all of a sudden hurts really bad. Dad gave me some magic cheese that made me feel better, but I still hurt a lot. I couldn't get comfortable and I hurt a lot. I was in so much pain, I kept whining. I got to sleep in the big bed which made Gunnar mad because that's where he sleeps. Throughout the night I would wake up and need massaged. That made it feel a little better. In the morning I was a little better, but I still hurt a lot. Dad gave me more magic cheese and I went back to the bed. Mom kept coming and checking on me while she was getting ready for work. Mom and Dad were really tired from being up with me all night and so was I. I finally sprawled out on the bed and got comfy. Right before Mom left for work, she told me to stay in bed and relax all day. She told Sasha that she had to protect the house so that I could get some rest. I slept really good and then it was almost time for Mom and Dad to come home for lunch so I went into the living room to greet them. Mom was very happy to see me greeting her. I was outside when Dad came home, but I greeted him,too when I came back in. Mom was very excited to watch me outside. The night before I couldn't cross the yard without having to sit down 4 times. I went out did my business, did a small fence check and then came back in. I let Sasha take care of all the birds and the rest of the fence check. I went back to the bed for the rest of the afternoon and when Mom came home from work I needed some petting. I layed on the floor right below the couch and Mom layed on the couch and Mom petted me in all the right spots. I took a small nap and then when Dad came home I was ready to play. Dad said I still had to be careful because there was still some swelling and I still wasn't holding my tail right so I settled for some more petting and massaging. Sasha is extremly jelous of me and I think it's hilarious!
Mom and Dad said I could sleep in the big bed again, but I decided I'd try my bed. We didn't sleep very good the night before so we needed a good nights sleep. I was able to finally get comfy in my bed and fell right to sleep until the alarm clock went of. I'm feeling even better today. The swelling on my hip is going down and I'm not as sore. Dad said I don't have to go to the vet now since I'm getting better (WOOHOO!!). I still can't play really hard and I'm still eating magic cheese, but I feel tons better! I tried t convince Mom to stay home with me this morning, but she said she couldn't and I should go relax. Mom and Dad are going look at my tail tonight if I will let them touch it to make sure that it's just swolen and not a cyist or anything else bad. It's been too sore to let them touch so hopefully they'll be able to check it out tonight to give a definate no on going to the vet.
I'm going back to the big bed now for some more rest. Thanks everybody for your comments on Dakota. My aunt is doing pretty good, but she says my cousin Bailey misses her playmate a lot.

Bad Bad Very Bad News

Hi Everybody. We are all very sad around my house. My cousin Dakota died this weekend. When they came home from getting out of their fence, a couple days later she got really sick and then she died Saturday night. They think it was Distemper. She'd never been vaccinated and she was only about 6 months old. I never got to meet her which makes me really sad. Aunt Gillian says she was full of attitude and Mom says she was even more hyper than I am! I hope my cousin Bailey is doing okay. She wasn't feeling very good when they got home either. Her brother Bruitis is fine, though.
This shows that ALL puppies should get your Distemper vaccinations and if a dog has been gone for a couple days out on their own they should get a vet check up just to make sure everything is okay.
I have some more stuff to blog about, but I'm going to wait. I'm kind of too sad to get excited and the other stuff needs excitement when it's written. I'll try to post again tomorrow, but we'll see how I feel tomorrow.

Broccoli Is NOT For Dogs!

This is a very important message for all you dogs out there. DO NOT EAT BROCCOLI!! It doesn't matter if it has cheese on it or not, it is still bad for dogs. Not bad like chocolate is bad for us, bad as in it makes your tummy all funny. Tuesday night Mom made some for dinner and Dad dropped some on the floor and I picked it up. That night my tummy was all rumbly and the next day Mom kept complaining about my broccoli farts. Yesterday at lunch Mom dropped a piece and Sasha got it. I didn't even try to go for it - I knew better! Sasha was really glad when Mom showed up after work. She had to go outside REALLY bad! So if anybody else has messy parents like I do - LEAVE THE BROCCOLI ON THE FLOOR!!! Trust me!!!

The Couch

Okay, the hotdog is still gone and now it has also eaten a chip! Mom loves her couch, but I'm thinking it's very dangerous to have around. Some day it's going to eat Gunnar or Sasha! Wait! Then I'd be the only "kid" in the house and I'd get all the treats. No, that's mean. I'm going to keep my eye on that couch though!
Mom and Dad said it's supposed to be nice weather for the rest of the week and through the weekend. I'm sooooo excited. That means I can be outside more and it also means it's closer to camping time!!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR CAMPING!!!!!
WHOA! Mom and Dad will be home from work soon. I better go get ready to tell them how much I've missed them. Four hours and eight hours is a really long time to us dogs!

The Couch Ate My Hothog!

On Sunday, Dad was giving us pieces of hotdog and Gunnat dropped is and it went under the couch. Sasha and I were going crazy trying to get it. Mom couldn't figure out what we were doing and she tried finding it and sh coudl find it. So then Dad lifted the end of the couch up and Mom and I got under the couch and looked and we couldn't find it. The only explanation is the couch ate it!!! Mom says Gunnar must have tricked us into thinking he dropped it down there. That definately can't be the real explanation!
Mom came home for lunch and said there was a postcard for Sasha in the mail. I was jelous until I found out it was from the vet. It's time for Sasha's shots (hehehehe). I had my shots last year so I'm good for awhile. I'm going to have fun teasing Sasha that it's time for her to go to the groomer AND the vet!
I'm off to take a nap now since there's nothing for me to stress about (except for maybe the hotdog eating couch).

EVERYBODY IS OKAY!!!!!!

Bruitis and Dakota are okay! They should be home this afternoon!!! They were picked up by a lady last night and the lady took care of them and then called my aunt!! Everybody will be getting a bath tonight because they're stinky and a mess. Thanks a lot for all the good puppy vibes!!!! Good puppy vibes work great!!!!!!!

Bailey's Home!

The good puppy vibes are working! Keep them going though!
Bailey's home, but Dakota and Bruitis are still gone. My aunt says that Bailey is pretty sore and full of cactus, but she's home!!! She's also pretty thin and really really tired. My aunt says that she thinks the other 2 were at the house, too but they left again. Bailey's the good one so she stayed home. (She's also a Momma's Girl BIG time, so she stayed home to wait for her momma.) I'm so happy!!!! Once she's feeling better and she's not so sore and gains some weight back, my aunt said she'd bring her over to play with me. I have a feeling though Bruitis is going to have to go back to the dog adoption place. He's a really bad dog and my aunt is stressing out too everytime he gets loose.
Keep up the puppy vibes for Daokata and Bruitis. Thanks everybody!!!
Bailey's home! Bailey's home! Bailey's home! Bailey's home! Bailey's home! Bailey's home! Bailey's home! Bailey's home! Bailey's home! Bailey's home! Bailey's home! Bailey's home!

Good Puppy Vibes!!!!!

I need everybody out there to send out good puppy vibes for my cousins. The brother (Bruitis) gets out and of the yard and yesterday he made a hole in the fence and him and Bailey and Dakota got out! It was really snowey and cold last night. My aunt is really really worried about them. I have a feeling she is going to ahve to find a new home for Bruitis because he's not being a good dog. It's warmer to day and Bruitis usually shows up at home so hopefully they will come home today so my aunt won't have to worry about them anymore. Send lots of good puppy vibes please!! Here is a picture of Dakota and Bailey. Bailey is one of my best friends! I love playing with her! I hope they come home soon!!!!!
Last night Mom was very sneaky! I was on the couch with her and Gunnar was on the couch because he wanted to lay on the fuzzy blanket near the firepalce. The way we were laying, it looked like Gunnar and I were cuddling. We weren't!!! Mom got up really quit and went over to the camera and started to take our picture. Then I realized what was going on so I jumped off the couh really quick. I didn't want that picture used as blackmail!!!!! I have to keep an eye on her - she thinks she's so sneaky!
I'm going to go back to sending out more good puppy vibes to my cousins. Dad is off today, but he had to run to work real quick to talk to someone. Hopefully I'll have good news later.

Sick Puppy

I did not feel good yesterday. My tummy was making funny noises and I didn't feel like eating much. Mom and Dad made some pizza last night that had bacon on it and Dad gave Sasha and I some pieces of bacon and that ended up not being a good idea. I got sick. Dad said it was good of my to do it on the kitchen floor and not the dining room because the kitchen floor is a lot easier to clean. Whenever I get sick like that, I get really nervous. I think I'm going to get yelled at. Mom and Dad will use their "poor puppy" voices and tell me it's okay, but I still get really nervous. I curled up in the dog chair last night instead of on the couch with Mom which really worried Mom. She was on the couch next to me and petted my head which felt really good so I moved over to the couch with her and layed my head on her chest and she kept petting me. She said that I was probably still recovering from the stress of Dad being gone (she's been calling me "stinky-butt" for about a week now). Ther's a dog flu that's been going around, but Mom and Dad have been really careful that Sasha and I don't end up with it. After seeing how sick Mom was with human flu, I DEFINATELY don't want to get that! Mom didn't go to the doctor for her's, but I'm sure I'd have to go to the doctor.
I've been doing a lot of sleeping today and when Mom came home for lunch I was feeling much better so I ran around the yard. I've been sleeping all afternoon, too. Mom should be home pretty soon and I think I'll convince her to not do anything but sit on the couch with me and rub my head and my belly. Mom's are really good at making you feel better. Whenever Mom isn't feeling good, I do the same for her. We take good care of each other.
I'm going to go take a short nap now. I don't know if I'll have anything to post tomorrow. If I'm still sick, I won't have anything interesting to tell you so I might just spend the day sleeping so that I'll feel better.

Rescue Dog

Last night Mom and Dad told me what a good dog I've become. I like when they tell me how good I am. Mom and Dad sometimes talk about when they first brought me home. Mom said she was afraid that they were going to have to take me back to the place they got me because I didn't listen and I was totally chaotic (that's where I got my name). But I soon started calming down and once I started trusting my new family, I started listening better and started learning new things. I've also become more lovey. When Mom and Dad got the new couch, they said "no bog dogs on the new couch," but Mom soon realized that meant no Sunday afternoon naps with me. Mom and I sometimes lay on the couch for an hour or more taking a nap. We haven't gotten to in awhile because Mom's busy trying to get the websites updated. Mom and i have a routine at night and a special way of curling up on the couch.
The first time Dad took me hunting, he thought that was going to be the last time I went. I was so excited to go, I forgot to listen. Now, I listen really well and Dad doesn't yell at me and I get to go with him more instead of staying at the house with Mom and Sasha. Dad will whistle quietly to get my attention and point in the direction he wants me to go and I go that way. Mom couldn't believe how well I did when she came out to take our pictures last time.
I glad to finally have a home. Other rescue dogs will agree with me on this. When you bounce around from family to family or when you're running around on your own, you never get to be who you really are because everything keeps changing all the time. Usually you aren't treated very well either in the other families. I try to to think back to my old family. When Mom and Dad brought me home, I was afraid of Dad. I would only come to Mom. I got over that, but men in uniforms still make me angry. I will bark and make my hair stand up to any cop that has ever come to my door. I was a military family dog for my first year and a half so Mom and Dad think that's why I don't like uniforms. I'm sure they're right, but I don't want to remember any of that old stuff. Mom says when they first brought me home I wouldn't cuddle, hug or give kisses. Now Mom says I'm the bestest hugger and cuddler and kisses giverer ever! (Even better than Dad!!!)
Mom also says that any other dogs they adopt will be rescue dogs. She says out of all the dogs she's had growing up, the rescue dogs have been the best. They're more loving and faster learners. Mom says she got Sasha for $300 and Sasha won't listen to Mom and Dad and she hides more than she cuddles. Mom and Dad love Sasha a lot, too, but Sasha gets left out of a lot of fun stuff because she doesn't listen and whines all the time. Mom says other dogs she's had when she was growin up where the same way. She did have a chow-blue healer mix that was a good dog and it wasn't a rescue dog. Mom says that dog came from a farm though and they got it for free, so it sort of was a rescue dog. Mom likes having bigger dogs around for protection and she said it was because of that dog. She said that dog took really good care of her and her siblings and even prtected the kids that were around that she babysitted. When Mom and Dad got married they decided to get a lab dog because Mom wanted the bigger dog aroudn for protection and Dad wanted a hunting dog. Mom says they got the perfect dog for that, even if I won't fetch the dead birds for Dad.
For those of you that aren't rescue dogs, you're special, too. I'm sure you take care of your families, too. I have lots of friends that aren't rescue dogs and they love their families and protect them the same way I do.
Enough sappy stuff. I'm going to go watch for birds. There have been a ton of birds in our yard lately. Sasha and I spent most of the weekend chasing birds. Mom would cheer us on by yelling "Get those birds!!!! Good girls!!!!" Sasha is looking for squirrels, too. She says that when the birds start coming, the squirrels start coming, too. I chase the birds out of the yard to practice for pheasant season. Sasha does it because it drives her crazy that there's uninvited animals in our yard. I also think it's because she's crazy.
Talk to ya later.

Dad Comes Home Today

Mom said last night that Dad comes home today. I'm soooooo excited. I've missed him a lot! Although, I do like sleeping in the big bed (Mom says I'm a giant bed hog). We don't know when he'll get home, so I've been watching for him all morning. I thought I'd take a quick break to tell you Dad is coming home. I have to get back to watching for him though so this is a really short post. Dad is off work tomorrow and then it's the weekend so have a great weekend and I'll be back next week!

My Birthday Was Awesome!

I'm 3!!!!!! Don't I look good ?

I was going to tell you all about my birthday earlier this morning, but I was way too tired so I had to sleep in. It was a great birthday!!!! Mom took lots of pictures, too.

My special treat was called a Wag'n Wrap. It was very very very very very yummy. I had 2 and Sasha had most of 1. She left a small piece of the rawhide for me. They were a very yummy treat and I was sad when they were all gone. Mom kept having to show me the package so I could see it was empty, but I know how tricky Mom can be so I had to sniff the end table they were sitting on and around the chair. She was right, they were gone. This is what the package looked like and in my mouth:

In the package, there were stickers. I don't know why there were stickers. Mom was confused by them, too. What is a dog going to do with stickers?I know some kids though, they'll like them. Still! Why did they put stickers in dog treats?

Sasha enjoyed the special treat, too. You can't see her chewing on it though. I think she was trying to hide it from me. Sasha usually chews on things for a few minutes and then lets me have the rest. Not this time. She pretty much finished it off.

Right as we were finishing up the treats, there was somone in the driveway. I didn't know who it could be because nobody called, so I went on guard duty and then was surprised to see who it was! It was Aunt Cassie and her parents! Her parents are the fun people we go visit when I go pheasant hunting and they give us lots of cheese and other treats. I was so happy they came to visit me on my birthday! It made up for Dad not being home.

After my company left, I was really tired so I curled up in Dad's chair. I had dropped a chewie in it earlier and Mom and I couldn't get it out so I figured I'd rest and wait to see if the chewie came up or fell through. Mom took my picture again (I told you she took a bunch). One of the pictures I yawned and so it lookes like I wrinkled my nose and stuck my tongue out. hehe, that's actually what I'm really doing! I just disguised it as a yawn to trick Mom!

Finally it was time for bed. Mom put my new pillow up on the bed for me to lay on. Since I was so tired and my pillow was there anyway and Dad isn't home right now, I decided to saty in the bed with Mom for the night. Mom said I could as long as I posed for a picture using my new pillow. There was no posing neccessary! Once I layed my head on the pillow, that was it.

That was my birthday. Now you see why I'm so tired. I'm going to go take another nap now. I wish Dad would get home soon so I didn't have to do guard duty any more. That makes me really tired, too.

It's My Birthday!!

Happy Birthday to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's also "National Love Your Pet Day."
Today I am 3 years old!!!!!!! Mom says I'll get my special treat after she gets off work tonight. She says it's something new that we haven't had before so she wants to keep an eye on us while Sasha and I are enjoying them. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
I love my pillow. Dad isn't home and I usually sleep in the bed with Mom when Dad's gone, but I wanted to use my pillow last night. Mom says I didn't snore at all last night. I might see if she'll put my pillow up on the bed with her tonight. It is my birthday, so I should get to do something special like that.
I hope Dad gets back soon. I hate when he's gone because I'm on high alert guard duty. Mom says it's really annoying that I bark at every little noise, but she's also happy I'm there to scare the noises away.
Mom says she'll take my picture with my new treat and my pillow so hopefully I can show you how cool my birthday is!
I CAN'T WAIT!!! MOM GETS OFF WORK IN 7 HOURS AND 20 MINUTES! Good thing she left out lots of chewies for us today. I don't know how good I can be with all the excitement!! I'm going to go watch the clock now and take a little nap so I'll be all rested up for my special treat!

Tomorrow's My Birthday!!

Tomorrow's My Birthday!! Tomorrow's My Birthday!! Tomorrow's My Birthday!! Tomorrow's My Birthday!! Tomorrow's My Birthday!! Tomorrow's My Birthday!! Tomorrow's My Birthday!! Tomorrow's My Birthday!! Tomorrow's My Birthday!! Tomorrow's My Birthday!! Tomorrow's My Birthday!!
Mom and Dad got me a pillow for my bed and I got that yesterday and I get a special treat tomorrow!!! I can't wait! Mom said the pillow is more for her. She says that if my head is on a pillow, then I don't snore. I guess I snore pretty load at night. I slept with it last night and Dad says Mom's right. I don't care. I get to sleep with pillow!! Dad says I'm spoiled, Mom says it's to keep her sane. My parents are crazy!
I can't wait to see what I get tomorrow. I'll share with Sasha of course. I can't wait!!!!!!
My friend Korra didn't come over this weekend. Her Dad said she does better moving if she stays at the new house and sees all the stuff coming in. Her dad did bring the girl over. I was really glad when they came and got her though. I didn't get my nap in! When she left, I realized how tired I was and then figured out why I was so tired! I didn't take a nap at all that day. I curled up on the couch with Mom and took a long nap while she worked on her cross-stich stuff. Mom said that's when she started her "Snoring Dog Experiment." (See how crazy she is?! She made an experiment and named it.)
Speaking of naps, I don't think I'm quit caught up yet so I'm going to go curl up on the couch again. I'll let you know what else I get. Thanks to everybody that's wished me Happy Birthday so far!

Weekend Plans

My friend Korra and her family are moving this weekend. Mom told Dad to tel Korra's dad that he can bring Korra over for the day if they want to. I hope she gets to come. I know I don't like moving. It's too stressful for us dogs. Korra can come play with me all day and then she won't have to be in the way and she'll get to have fun and not think about the moving.
My birthday is only a few days away! I can't wait! I'v been trying to figure out where my borthday presant is, but I can't figure it out. They didn't hid it under the kitchen sink like they did at Christmas. I only have a little more than an hour until Mom gets home and I can't look anymore. It's driving me crazy. Why are parents so good at hiding things? I better get back to looking before Mom comes home. Have a good weekend everybody!

My Kennel

A couple posts ago somone commented on my kennel and that my Mom and Dad shouldn't use it to punish me. I read the article (http://www.ddfl.org/behavior/crate-train.pdf ) and I don't think they are talking about my kennel. The things they are talking about in the article sound like the one that Mom and Dad use for Gunnar and sometimes when Sasha travels (not so much now that I'm around to protect her). Gunnar hates the crate because the only time he gets put in it is to go outside and then in the car (usually to the vet) and he hates being outside, the car and the vet. When Mom and Dad used to take Sasha on trips, they would take the crate so she would have a place to go hide if she wanted to. Mom said she would hide her treats in there and then lay outside the door and growl if any other animal walked near the crate. We don't take the crate anymore. There's really not enough room to pack it, but mostly because Sasha's okay with me there to help protect the treats, plus she's comfortable in the palces we go now.
My kennel is a little different. It's more of a cage looking type of kennel. It's in the corner where I'm away from all the fun stuff that's going away. Dad says it's like putting a kid in time out. When I get in trouble I automatically go to the kennel. Sometimes I'm in the kennel before Mom and Dad even walk in the door and know I've been bad. The door gets closed, but it's hardly ever latched. If it's latched I know I've been really bad. There's a blanket in the kennel just like the one I sleep with at night and I'm not in there very long (especially if Mom is the one making me sit in the corner) unless I've been REALLY bad.
I know the difference between the kennel and the crate and so does Sasha. She knows the kennel is for doing something bad and the crate is for fun things. If Mom and Sasha go somewhere on without Dad and I, Mom will take the crate for Sasha which makes Sasha very happy. When Sasha goes to stay at Grandma's while I go camping with Mom and Dad, they take the crate to Grandma's. Sasha likes Grandma to put all her toys in the crate and that way they're organized and safe. Grandma says 4 year old humans need to learn to put toys away like Sasha does. Mom says Sasha needs to start doing that at home, too. I think they're all crazy! If the toys are out inthe middle of the floor, you always know where they are.
So don't worry about me being in the kennel, but thanks for the article. I now understand why Sasha likes the crate so much. Thanks!
PS ONLY 5 DAYS TIL MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!! I'm not exactly sure what Valentine's Day is, but so far it means cookies for the puppies!!! Mom came home for lunch at a weird time and didn't stay very long and in or lunch she put a small cookie. I like cookies.
One of the neighbor girls came over this morning to ask Mom if she would take her and her sister to school this morning and she smelled like the dogs next door. She didn't like me sniffing her, but I don't like being surprised by the doorbell early in the morning. After we sniffed her down really good, she went back home. She said she was allergic to cats. I didn't know you could be allergic to cats! Gunnar was pretty upset. He likes when little kids come to scratch his ears. He says their fingers are the perfect size for scratching his ears. He was pretty upset when the girl left and never scratched his ears.
I'm going to go sniff the kitchen floor to see if there's any of those Valentine cookie crumbs on the floor.

Not Fair

I don't think it's fair the way Gunnar is punished. When he gets into trouble he gets squirted with a water bottle! I don't get it! I'm a good girl and they squirt the cat instead! I guess Gunnar doesn't like getting squirted with the water bottle, though. But that's not the point! I want to be squirted with the water bottle as much as Gunnar does! I love being squirted with the water bottle! I do get squirted once in awhile, mostly in the summer time. OH!! You know what's even better than a squirt bottle? A HOSE!!!!!! I love being squirted with a hose or haveing buckets of water dumped on me!! There are times when I don't like those though. Dad thinks it's weird that I love water, but I hate baths. I think what he does is pretty weird, so I guess we're even.
It's cold and snowing again. I'm going to go curl up in the blanket Mom left on the couch now.
And 1 week from today is my birthday!!!!!

9 Days Till My Birthday & I Went To Grandma's!!!

Mom and Dad took us to Grandma's house yesterday to run in her grass! I chased the floppy frisbee for a long time and then I layed in the shade in the grass and Grandmas brought me a bowl of water and I layed down to drink it. Sasha doesn't stay in the yard like I do so she had to stay on her leash, but she wanted to sniff and have Grandma feel sorry for her so she was okay, but I kept tripping on her leash. It was so much fun! There was a little mud in the back part of the yard, but we tried to mostly stay closer to the house where it was dryer. I got really warm and walked over to the snow to cool off a little, that's when Grandma decided I needed some water. She's so smart! Mom was laughing really hard at me because I was being so smart (pretty sure Mom's crazy). Sunday was so much fun!!
That morning Mom made Valentine cookies. I helped. She was really messy with the heart sprinkles so Sasha and I helped clean up the floor for her and once in awhile Mom would let me do a taste test on a cookie to make sure they were okay. They were great!! Before we went to Grandma's, Mom even went outside with me and we played with my rubber stick. There's still a bunch of mud in the yard though so Mom wouldn't throw it very far. Then Mom and Dad took Mom's car to wash it and go to the store. I was getting pretty worried that we weren't going to get to go anywhere like they had promised the day before, but then they came back and we rode in the truck!!!!!!! I love riding in the truck!!! I hopped up into my spot on the platform thing, but Sasha coudln't get up there so Dad crawled in and put her up. They didn't open the windows between the front and the back of the truck and I found out it was because they had cookies for Grandma and they didn't want us getting them or smashing them. On the way home Sasha rode in front and I spawled out on the deck cuz I was so tired.
I had so much fun!!! At first we played where Dad threw the floppy frisbee as hard as he could and I'd chase it. It was kind of windy that day so I kept getting confused when the wind messed with the frisbee in the air. Then we splayed where Dad threw it a shorter distance and I'd try to catch it. Mom said I was in some pretty funny positions in the air and she wished she had brought her camera.
When we got home I carried the frisbee in the house and then took a nap. It's been a long time since I've been able to do that much running. Grandma even made the comment that it looks like I've gained a little wait. I think I lost a bunch of that wait in her backyard though. After a short nap, I was a little hyper. I still wanted to play, but Dad wasn't feeling good. So I curled up in the chair with the frisbee just in case someone wanted to play with me, the frisbee woudl eb handy. Dad took us out for our 9 o'clock trip outside and then I came back inside and the frisbee was gone!!! I looked everywhere for it. I tried asking Gunnar if he knew what happened to it and you know what he said. "Leave me alone I'm sleeping. I'm a cat, why woudl I care where a frisbee is?" I help hime find stuff he's lost! Mom said it was put away so I went to the thing the toys are in and I smelled it and sure enough, the frisbee was put away with my harness. I'm okay with that I guess, I really wish they'd leave all the toys out all the time, btu they say the special toys have to be put away so they won't get torn up. I chewed up my throwing dummy and they haven't forgotten about it.
I can't wait to see what I get for my birthday! I've been trying to listen to hear if Mom and Dad talk about it, but I think they figured out I know what they're saying.
I CAN'T WAIT!!!
I am REALLY tired now so I'm going to go take a nap. Mom should be home for lunch soon and I want to go out in my yard for awhile since it's warm outside and the mud is finally starting to go away. Hope everybody else had a good weekend!

11 Days Til I'm 3!

There's only 11 days left until my birthday! I can't wait!I've been trying to listen to see if Mom and Dad say what they're getting me. They think just because I'm a dog, I won't know what they're talking about. I'm really smart though. Dad is also going to be out of town on my birthday which means I might get my gift early! That's what they did for Sasha's birthday! She got her new bed before Dad left for hunting. Dad's going to something for work this time, but he's still going to be gone, so I might get it early! I can't wait!
I've been getting into some trouble lately. Not big enough that I have to get put in the kennel all day long. Just trouble enough that I have to spend some minutes in the kennel. I'm getting really frustrated with the weather and the mud. I can't remember the last time I got to go have fun. I can't even play in my own backyard because the mud is too yucky. If I do play a little, I get mud stuck up in my feet and then I have to spend hours trying to get it out because the dried mud makes my feet feel funny. Dad said I could wear my boots, but I convinced him that we don't want to get my hunting boots all muddy, cuz that might ruin them. (I'm a very smart dog.)
Heopfully soon I'll be able to play like my usual self. Mom said that if I don't be good, then I won't get anything for my birthday! I thought that rule was only for Christmas! I didn't think it applied to birthdays, too!! Has anybody else heard of this rule, or are my parents just trying to trick me?
I need to go get some more mud out of my feet. I really hate that feeling! I CAN'T WAIT FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

MY BIRTHDAY!!!

My birthday is coming soon! I was wondering around the house a few minutes ago and looked up at the calendar and there was my name!!!! I can't wait to see what I get this year! Last year I got a giant bone! Hopefully this year I'll get the same thing! I can't wait!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!

Still Bored

We still haven't beeen able to leave the house yet. I really hope we get to go do something soon. It's been warm the past couple days and I guess it's supposed to stay this way for awhile. That's great, but that means there's going to be lots of mud for awhile. Hopefully it will get warm enough for the sun to dry up the mud.
Everybody needs to send some good puppy vibes to my cousins Bailey, Dakota and Bruitis and my Aunt Gillian. They're going though some hard stuff right now. Hopefully things will start getting better for them soon though. Aunt Gillian starts a new job today and we're very excited about that. Mom needs some good puppy vibes, too. Her job is really stressing her out lately. I snuggle with her lots to help her feel better. Mom says I'm the bestest cuddler ever!
I'm going to go see how much mud is outside now. Hopefully there's less that there was at lunch time.

Totally Bored

I'm really tired of the mud and the snow. Last night Mom said I've been acting a little depressed and asked if it was because of the weather. I licked her hand and layed my head in her lap to tell her she's right. If the temperature is warm, then the back yard is full of mud. If the weather is cold, the mud is frozen, but it's too cold to stay outside for very long. I really haven't felt like doing much of anythng lately. Mom's been giving us lots of chewies which is nice, but what I really want to do is go outside and play. I want to get out of the house! I got up in the chair and licked the leashes when Mom and Dad were home for lunch today and Mom said she knew I was bored, but there's really nowhere to go that doesn't have a bunch of mud or isn't too cold.
Dad says Sasha and I are pretty smart because of the way we stay out of the mud. There's a path that Mom and Dad are building from the back porch to the garage. It's going to have rock in the middle of it, but right now it's just the outlining bricks along the edges. Well, Sasha and I have figured out how to walk along the brick to get to the grassy area behind the garage. I do pretty good, but Sasha's back end doesn't have very good balance so she falls off sometimes. If we stay on the bricks, then we don't have to get our feet whiped off when we want to go back inside. It's a very smart plan.
I hope I have more exciting stuff to tell you next week. I think I'm going to go take a nap on the couch now.

This is post #100 for me!! I forgot all about it! It's been a really crazy week so far and I haven't been able to get on to post. I've been too busy guarding the house. I'm on high alert guearding now. Dad stayed home from work today and is taking a nap now so I decided to go ahead and do a quick post to let all of you know I'm still around. Sunday Aunt Gillian had some problems with her boyfriend. He wrecked her car and went to jail. At 1:15 am there was a cop at our door looking fo Aunt Gillian because they didn't know she wasn't in the car. I don't like men in uniforms, especially when they wake me up so early!! (I was abused by a man that was in the army.) Luckily, Aunt Gillian dumped the guy that night. I didn't like him anyway. He never petted us! You can't trust anybody that doesn't pet a cute face like I have. He wouldn't even pet Sasha when she jumped in his lap and whined!!!!! Everybody pets Sasha when she does that to make the whining stop! So, I've been on high alert geard duty since that night. I'm really tired now, too. Eevn though Dad is sick today, I'm not on as high alert because he's home. Sasha's been helping with guard duty, too. She's really good at hearing things and letting me know when I need to go yell at someone. When someone needs yelled at, I get in the big window behind the couch and Sasha stands by the door. The people see me and I look really big standing on the back of the couch and they can't see Sasha so they don't know she's really little, they just know there's another dog in with the big one.
I hope Aunt Gillian brings Bailey over sometime soon to play or maybe Mom could take me over to her house. Then I would get to meet my other 2 cousins, too. I keep hinting at Mom and Dad that I want to go somewhere. I go up and nudge the leashes. Mom gets the hint, but she keeps saying it's too cold outside still to go anywhere.
OH! That reminds me! Dad said it's supposed to snow again this weekend. Can you believe that?! I don't think the snow is ever going to go away. I love running in the snow, but I also love playing with sticks and my toys. I can't remember the last time I saw any of those. I did find my plastic stick, but it snowed again this weekend and froze it to the ground. It was pretty warm yesterday, but I really didn't feel like going outside much.
Hopefully I'll have good news next week. I'll try to post #101 tomorrow. I noticed, too that I need to get Mom to take some pictures. I haven't put pictures on in a long time. She's been really busy with her promotion though.
I'm going to go join Dad for a nap.

Getting Warm

It's finally getting warm enough to play outside. Sasha and I have beene going outside as much as possible and staying out as much as possible before it gets so warm that all the snow melts and there's nothing but yucky mud in the back yard.
Last night Mom and Dad were playing with the walkie talkies and Mom left one in the living room where I was and went into the other room where Dad was so he could show her something on the internet. Dad decided to try to play a trick on me by talking to me on the radio. I was ignoring him until he whistled and then I guess I made a funny face when I looked at the walkie talkie. I decided to show him I wasn't falling for his tricks so I went running into the room where they were and told Dad I was too smart for him.
This morning there were a bunch of trucks trying to clean up all the snow in the middle of the road before school started. I guess they got tired of the snow being piled in the middle of the road, I know Mom and Dad were getting tired of it. But why did they have to start working on it at 5 AM? Don't they know some of us are trying to sleep that early. It's still dark outside!!! I got up in the bed and cuddled with Mom and Dad because it woke them up to and then Sasha came up and so did Gunnar. We really didn't sleep much though because the trucks and loaders were being so noisy with the beeping and banging noises. They got most of the snow, but they couldn't get all the ice up. The ground is too cold for the snow to melt very fast and it's making a lot of ice on the streets and other places. Sasha really hates the ice. Dad laughs at her when her back end goes in the opposite direction from her front end.
I'm going to go take a nap now before Mom gets home from work. We'll be able to go outside and play for awhile again before it gets cold.

Tired of Snow

I'm really getting tired of snow. I haven't seen my rope that I play with outside in weeks and my rubber stick is cold and hard. Yesterday I discovered these things that look like clear sticks. I haven't seen a stick in weeks either. I picked it up and it was really cold - colder than my rubber stick! Part of it also broke really easy. Dad said it was some sort of ice. I can't remember what he called it. I'll call it an "ice stick." Dad was laughing at me because I was so confused about the ice stick. Dad said it's supposed to snow again at the end of the week. I really love playing in the snow, but I also love my toys and playing out in the warm sun.
Mom got a promotion at her job. I hope that means that also means more money for toys and treats. Mom is really good about buying us yummy treats and fun toys. She's been pretty stessed out and I've been helping her feel better by cuddling with her at night on the couch.
Thanks for sending all your good doggie vibes to Sasha and her sore back. She's all better now. Since the good doggie vibes thing works, could you focuss on no more snow for us for awhile. I really want to find my rope and some real sticks.
Thanks!!

TONS of Snow

I can't believe how much snow is outside! If Mom hadn't been so busy with other stuff this weekend (like baking) she would have taken pictures. I watched her try to get out of the driveway this morning and she was having trouble. It didn't help that there is a ton of snow piled in the middle of the road either. Mom loves her Kia, except for this time of year. She wishes she had a Jeep. She could drive one of the Jeeps in the yard if she knew how to drive a stick, but she doesn't so she has to get stuck everywhere she goes in her car.
I wish the Big Jeep was fixed. It would be really fun to go play in the snow in the Big Jeep. Dad wishes it was fixed, too. I really hope he can get it fixed for this summer.
When we go play in the snow, we have to becareful not to stay outside too long because it's way too cold. Once we start to feel too cold ew have to tell someone we need to go inside so we don't get sick or hurt. Sasha's glad she hasn't had to go to the groomer in awhile because she can last for a lot longer now.
Mom was teasing Sasha Sunday morning about her bath. Last weekend Sasha was hurt so she got out of the bath then and this weekend it was way too cold so she got out of it again. Mom said it was cheating learning how to control the weather to get out of a bath.
Mom should be home pretty soon for lunch so I'm going to go take a quick nap so I'll be ready to go play in the snow for a little while.

Very Very Cold

It snowed again last night. Mom and Dad said before it snowed there was icey frosty stuff that put down a nice layer of ice before it snowed. Mom wasn't very happy scraping her windows this morning. I watched her out the big window this morning. It's a good thing she has a little car since she's so short. It was kind of funny to watch her though.
Last night Sasha was feeling so much better she jumped up on the couch and the recliner and then this morning jumped up on the bed. Mom was saying last night that she is definately getting a bath as soon as it's not so cold outside. A little later Mom was scratching her ear and Sasha yelped. I'm pretty sure it was fake because she knew if she wasn't feeling good she wouldn't have to get a bath. She better becarful though. Mom might get so tired of Sasha stinking that she goes ahead and gives her a bath and then uses the blow dryer on her! The blow dryer and the vacuum are 2 things that I really don't like. I chase the vacuum, but the blow dryer can't move like the vacuum can. Since Mom was afraid of hurting Sasha, I got all the belly rubs. Then this morning Sasha must have forgotten about being in pain because she was trying to get Mom's attention for some belly rubs. Any time now she's getting a bath! hehehe It's way too cold today and it's supposed to be cold tomorrow too. If she got a bath today she'd be an instant puppy ice cube. The sun is shining though so I don't know where the cold is coming from. I guess from all the ice that's on everything (except Mom's car windows, she took care of the rest of the ice at lunch).
Have a good weekend everybody and try to stay warm. I was going to try to talk Mom into taking me to the park this weekend, but I think curled up beside her on the couch or inthe spare room while she works on her artwork is a much better idea. Dad brought some firewood in, too so we shoudl stay nice and warm.

Good Dog

Mom says this Garfield comic strip reminds her of me. I'm not exactly sure if that's a good thing or not. What do you think?
Sasha is doing bunches better. She was jumping off of the furniture last night and doing her whining thing and Mom picked her up and she didn't even yelp. She's still a little sore, but she's much better. Mom said she might be getting a bath this weekend. HEHEHEHE That's hilarious! I'm glad I don't have really long hair and mud and dirt stuck in it all the time. I love water, but I hate baths.
We're not going to go hunting this month. It's a bummer, but it's supposed to snow and we don't want to end up stuck somewhere because of the snow. It's supposed to be really really cold this weekend, too and Dad decided it'd be better to not be out in the cold and the wind and snow. Dad is off this weekend and plans on doing some stuff in the yard and if it's too cold for me to be outside with him, then Mom will be home too and she's hoping to finally get to use her easel that Dad got her for Christmas. She's also going through some of her photography stuff because she has to decorate her office now that the other lady is leaving. She's still sad the lady is leaving, but she doesn't have much time to think about it because she's busy learning a bunch of new things. She hasn't had time to think about how sad she is or how stressed out she is. I give her lots of hugs and cuddle with her a lot to help her feel better though.
OH! This morning everything was backwards! Usually Dad gets up and lets us out and feeds Gunnar and then lets us in and feeds us and Mom stays in bed for a little longer. This morning it was different. Mom let us out and Dad stayed in bed. It was one of Dad's late shift days which means he can spend more time with me in the morning so he decided to spend a little extra time in bed. We were confused, but our routine really wasn't messed up so we were okay. After I ate breakfast I went back into the bedroom and cuddled with Dad before he finally had to get out of bed and go to work. It was a bunch of fun!!
Mom should be home for lunch pretty soon so I better go. Bye!

A Mess!

I can't play in the back yard very much right now because all of the snow has melted and now there's a big giant sticky mess. It's supposed to snow again soon. That will make it nice so I can run around again, but then it will melt and it will be nast again. Dad says this is really going to help the grass grow this spring. I hope he's right and I really hope spring comes pretty soon.
Sasha's doing a lot better. She's still sore, but she gets up and around better.
Mom burnt her fingers last night on the stove. She said some bad words, too. She should have eaten a piece of cheese with some Children's Tylenol in it. It seems to make Sasha feel lots better.
I'm going to go pick on Gunnar now. Trust me, he deserves it!

Sasha's A Little Better

Last night Sasha was up and begging for food. Mom was very happy. She gave Sasha a big chunk of her sandwich and I also got one so I wouldn't be jelous. This morning Sasha went outside with Dad and I both times, but decided to go to bed before Mom left for work. She's still getting the pills hidden in the cheese, but hopefully she won't be needing them much anymore.
I'm glad Sasha's getting better because I've been getting tired of all the attention she's been getting lately. I know I got a lot of attention when I cut my paw this summer, but Sasha hides a lot because she doesn't want the attention. I on the other hand LOVE attention. Sasha doesn't get to go to Mom's work or to Grnadma's house like I did thouh. Mom and Dad don't want to pick her up because it hurts her so she can't get into the car and Mom's office is upstairs so she can't do that either. Sasha pretty much just stays in bed all day so they aren't too worried about her.
Gunnar is getting tired of Sasha getting all the attention, too which is weird because he hates attention more than Sasha does. I think he just wants to play with Sasha though. Sasha's smaller than him so he likes picking on her a lot. Last night he went to tackle Sasha and she yelped and cried and Mom and Dad both yelled at him. I kind of felt sorry for him - kind of.
I'm supposed to be checking on her again. She's decided to start laying in my bed now which she has to step up into so I don't think she really needs checked on, but Mom told me to so I'm going to.
Hopefully tomorrow I won't have to check on her again.

Sasha

This weekend Sasha was ungrounded. She was very happy to be on the bed again, but Saturday afternoon she started acting weird. Sunday morning Mom and Dad figured out it was her hips that hurt. They went to the store and got some Children's Tylenol for her which has been helping a lot. I thought she was faking it at first because she was trying to make Mom and Dad feel bad about grounding her. Mom opened a cheese wrapper though and Sasha didn't come running so that meant she was not feeling good at all. The Tylenol seems to be helping, but she's still sore. Mom is really worried about her and wanted to stay home from work today to take care of Sasha, but she's got some stuff going on at work that she needs to be there for so I told her I'd take really good care of Sasha for her. I have to make sure Gunnar leaves her alone (he is because he knows she's not feeling good) and I have to go and make sure she doesn't need anything (not like I can do much for her anyway though). I hope she starts to feel better soon. Being in the backyard without her is really boring and she looks so sad. It makes Mom and Dad sad, too. If she doesn't start getting better soon she's going to have to go to the vet and we all hate that a lot! Sasha's supposed to get her shots this year so maybe they'll go ahead and do that too if she has to go so she doesn't have to go to the vet 2 times in 1 year!!!
I'll keep you updated on Sasha. Send all your get well doggie vibes to her. I'm going to go check on her now.

More Snow

It's snowing again. It's nice because that means I can play in the yard again. The other snow was starting to melt and the back yard was all muddy. I really hope the grass seeds start growing grass so I don't have to worry about mud anymore.
Sasha is REALLY wanting to get abck on the bed. She was jumping really hard last night trying to get up. Dad told her that if she jumped up there on her own, then she could stay. She didn't though and then whined about it. It's really not that hard to get up there. Mom told her this morning that tomorrow she's not grounded anymore and then she can get back on the bed. I bet she doesn't chew up anything of Mom's again! I think not being allowed on the bed is a bigger punishement than having to stay in the kennel thing when Mom and Dad leave the house. I would much rather stay in the kennel all day long than not be able to have my morning cuddle with Mom or even my night cuddle!
Last night Mom was feeling pretty down. I guess there's some stuff going on at work that is stressing her out big time. She went and layed on the bed with Gunnar and since Gunnar isn't a cuddler like I am, he left her all alone on the bed. I couldn't believe he could do that to poor Mom. I went outside for the last time with Dad and then went into the bedroom and jumped up on the bed but Dad made me get down because my feet were dirty. BUT I couldn't just let Mom lay on the bed all by herself when she was that sad so I jumped back on the bed and curled up in Mom's arms and then gave a look to Dad that said "I'm not getting down." He laughed at me and said "stay on the comforter then." You can't set rules to a "Make You Feel Better Cuddle" but I stayed on the comforter anyway, but so did Mom so it was okay. I usually do anyway because I don't like having the blanket on top of me like Sasha does, so really it wasn't that big of a deal. I got up a little early and jumped up beside Mom for an early mornign cuddle, too. I knew she needed it. Poor Mom. I hope things get better for her soon because I like playing more than I like making people feel better. First she had the flu and now she's sad. Good thing she has me to help her out. Dad's good, too, but Mom says I'm the bestest cuddler ever! I'll curl up on the coach with her when she's not feeling good and she'll use me as a pillow and we'll sleep like that for about an hour. After an hour I need to get up and stretch though.
I'll let you know how Mom's doing on Monday. Dad's home this weekend so we're going to try have a really fun weekend and try to make her feel better.

January Trip!!

It looks like maybe the next trip will be in a couple weeks. I can't wait to go!! I love running around looking for birds with Dad. Mom and Dad were talking more about it last night. They just have to check with Aunt Cassie to make sure the dates work for her, too. I can't wait!!!!
Sasha is getting really mad about the being grounded from the bed thing. She was yelling at Mom this morning and Mom kept telling her no. Sasha can't wait for Saturday when she can get back on the bed. To top it all off Mom told her that she's going to get a bath soon, too. I almost feel sorry for her, but it's nice not being the one in trouble.
You're going to be surprised about the blog I'm going to tell you about today. It's a cat!! His name is Max. He's hilarious though! You should definately check his blog out. He has books published and he reminds me a little bit of my brother Gunnar. If Gunnar had a blog, I think it'd be a lot lik Max's. Max has a little brother Buddah who also has a blog (there's a link from Max's blog to Buddah's). I'm adding a link on the side, too. OH that reminds me! Mom should be adding the Dogs With Blogs link today, too. There's so much going on right now!!!!!!!

Dogs With Blogs

I'm on the website Dogs With Blogs!!! I've been trying to get on for awhile and kept getting confused. Well, I finally decided today I was going to actually sit and figure it out until I got it and I did it!! Then a little bit ago aI was looking through the list of blogs and all of a sudden I saw my picture and there I was! WOOHOO!!! I'm so excited. Now lots of other dogs and people can find my blog and read it! I can't wait to start reading all the stuff on the website and make some more friends online! I'll have Mom make make me a link thing on the side tomorrow to Dogs with Blogs. Doing that on my own today was too much. I found a link to a site with doggie treat recipes that Mom can make for us. My birthday is next month and there's a birthday cake recipe that I have picked out for her to do. She loves baking and she loves me so I'm sure she'll do it for me! I can't wait!!!!! I'M SO EXCITED!!!!! I hope Mom gets home from work soon because I REALLY need to go run around in the backyard now! WOOHOO!!!!

Sasha's Grounded!

I have never seen Mom so mad at Sasha before. Mom got Sasha before she met Dad so Mom and Sasha have a special bond and Mom babies her quit a bit. Well, Mom still hasn't been feeling great so she slept in all 3 days she was off. Saturday morning we were all up in the bed with her and the night before she had brought one of her new blankets to bed with her because she was really cold. We weren't paying attention to what Sasha was doing, but Mom sort of woke up and her Sasha making weird noises. Mom just thought Sasha was licking the blanket so she balled it up and then layed on it. Well, when she was ready to get up, she sat up and there was stuffing coming out of the blanket. She had chewed holes in Mom's new blanket and Mom was mad! Mom hopped out of bed and yelled for Sasha to kennel up. I didn't know what was going on I just heard Mom yelling kennel up so I ran to the kennel. Mom finally got ahold of Sasha and put her in the little carrier thing and then turned to look at me in the kennel and laughed. Mom said, "Kaos you goofy dog, you're being good out out of that kennel." That's when I realized I wasn't in trouble, Sasha was! I decided I wanted to go outside so Mom let me out. It was kind of boring being outside all by myself so I didn't stay out very long. Mom layed on the couch for awhile and then finally let Sasha out. Mom said Sasha had to be in the kennel anytime we were left home alone that day (which wasn't very much) and she's grounded from being on the bed for a week!!! That's what's killing Sasha. She loves to be on the bed. Mom moved the bench even so Sasha can't get up by herself! Later in the afternoon, Mom finally let Sasha cuddle up with her on the couch and Sasha has been giving her sorry eyes since then.
Sunday Mom was finally feeling pretty good so she was doing laundry and stuff like that. Once in awhile she would yell there's birds in the yard again and Sasha and I would go running to the back door and Mom would let us out and we would go running out and scare the birds away. I even would sit in the computer room where I could see out into the backyard and then let Mom know that we needed to go chase the birds out of the yard. Dad put grass seed out when he was off the other day so hopefully we'll have grass and the birds keep coming and trying to eat our seed. It's weird though because they're going to the backyard even though they know we're going to chase them out. The know we're not in the front yard! I think the birds in our neighborhood must be really dumb.
Speaking of birds!! I heard Mom and Dad talking and it looks like the next pheasant trip is in a couple of weeks! I can't wait. I think they've forgotten about my boots too because I haven't had to wear them for a few weeks now. Dad said though that this next trip, I'll have to stay at the house a lot because the coyotes are really bad out there and so the people want Dad to get rid of some of the coyotes too if he can. The number of pheasants on the property has gone down too (not because of Dad and I, we've only gotten 1 bird) so if Dad gets rid of some of the coyotes, then there will be more birds for us. The coyotes are getting the chickens and the cats too. They also used to have this big black dog (he was funny) and he's been missing for a year now and they'r pretty sure the coyotes got him because he liked to go rabbit hunting out where the coyotes are. The people also said that they're making their holes where they hide to keep warm up near the house and that makes them nervouse too. Sasha can't go outside by herslef anymore because Mom worries about her. One time when we were there Sasha was outside by herself and a coyote ran through the yard and Mom freaked out. (See what I mean about there being a bond and Sasha being babied?) So now either Mom or Dad has to come outside with us when we go outside which is okay, but we don't get to just go out and sniff all the different smells that are out there. I can't wait to go hunting again!
This is a really long post so I better stop now. I hope everybody had a good New Year's. Mom and Dad stayed out too late and Sasha, Gunnar and I slept so it wasn't that big of a deal for us. Both Mom and Dad were home yesterday though and only left a couple times to go grocery shopping and to go see Aunt Gillian and my cousins for a little bit. (Mom wanted to meet the new cousins first to make sure they were going to be okay with me. I miss playing with Bailey and Mom said Bruitis and Dakota should be okay with me too. I can't wait to go meet them!!)
Okay, now I'm really going to stop typing. I just get soooooooo excited though and want to tell all of you about it all, I can't stop. I'm going to try to remember to tell you about some of the blogs I read again this week as long as nothing else exciting happens. OH I need to go read those now! Gotta go!
