Happy Barkday to My Dad!

Happy Barkday to my Dad!
Happy Barkday to my Dad!
Happy Barkday to myyyyyyeeeeeeee Daaaaaa-aaaaaadd!
Happy Barkday to my Dad!
Yesterday was my Dad's barkday and I was going to post this yesterday but Dad and Grandma were hogging the computer. I will say that what ever they did to the computer, made the internet TONS better.
My Dad still isn't feel good so he's going back to the doctor. He was supposed to make his appointment for today, but it's not until Thursday. I think he's hoping to feel better before then. Mom and Grandma told him he had to go back so he made the appointment. Sneaky Dad!
Do you like Dad's barkday cake? It's Bart Simpson and Mom made it. (Mom says not to look at the ugly wallpaper in the kitchen.) There's a lot of chocolate in the cake so Sasha and I didn't get any of it. We did clean up some crumbs on the floor though, but don't tell Mom, she thought someone cleaned them up for her. Aunt Cassie, Aunt Gillian and Grandma all came over to celebrate Dad's birthday. I had a lot of fun hogging Grandma's attention. I didn't care if anybody else was giving attention to Sasha and Gunnar, but I'm Grandma's favorite so I have to be sure all her attention stays on me!
Hope everybody had a gret weekend! I have a funny post for tomorrow. I'm going to go start on it now.

GUESS WHAT! GUESS WHAT! GUESS WHAT!

Sunday was MY day! Saturday Mom and Dad were gone almost all day which wasn't fun, but Sunday Dad finally went back to work and Mom stayed home. I was hoping to get to blog on Sunday since Dad has been hogging the computer while he was home sick all of last week, but Mom hogged it. SHEESH! But, Mom didn't hog it all day, she spent time with me! She played with me and I helped her clean the bathroom andwe made lunch together (I discovered I really don't like cucumbers) and I got tons of ear scratching. Sasha hid almost all day so all attention was on ME! After lunch Mom and I were on the couch watching Scooby-Doo (have I mentioned my Mom is a Scooby freak? Sasha's real name is Sasha-Soo!) and the phone wrang. I thought it was Dad checking in on us, but no it was my Aunt Gillian. I haven't seen her since after my Mom's surgery. Well, she needed a ride into town because she lives in the next town over and doesn't have a vehicle anymore and wanted to know if Mom would come get her. GUESS WHAT! Mom said okay and then she asked if I wanted to go and it's been so long since I've gone anywhere and so I was confused and then Sasha heard and that was when I realized what Mom asked me so I gave her the sad but cute puppy eyes and then Sasha caught on and Mom looked at us and said we could both go so she went and started the car and got it cooled down enough for us and then we went to get in Mom's car. Sasha ran to the truck instead of the car. Mom got mad because Sasha is getting really bad about not listening to Mom. I would have rather gone in the truck or the Jeep, too but I knew that since it was Mom, we were in the car (it's also the one with the best air conditioning so I didn't complain at all). Sasha rode all the way to Aunt Gillian's house on the floor which confused Mom and I. She was mad because Mom told her she had to ride in the back seat. Personally, I prefer the back seat. More room to spread out. It took us about 20 minutes to get to Aunt Gillian's and then when we got there, I didn't get to go see my cousin Bailey, well I go to see her but she didn't come with us and I didn't get to get out because Mom was worried about the traffic. So Aunt Gillian got in the car and we came back to town and then we dropped her off. When Aunt Gillian got in the car, Sasha finally got on the seat but she whined all the way back to town because she wanted to sit in Aunt Gillian's lap, but Mom said she was being a butthead so she had to sit in the back. Mom kept looking in the mirror and telling me what an awesome dog I was being. She said I am the bestest car dog! So we came back home and I took a nap (car rides make me tired). Mom went to pick Dad up from work and I didn't ask to go because I was really tired. Awhile later Mom and Dad were outside doing stuff with gates open which means dogs have to stay inside and the phone wrang and I didn't know who it was because I was outside and Mom answered it in the garage and then Mom came inside and got her purse and went out the back door so I followed her and Sasha doesn't like to go outside unless Dad goes with her so she stayed inside and boy did she regret it. We went out the back said bye to Dad and then Mom said come on Kaos. I got in Mom's car and we went to pick up Aunt Gillian and took her back home! TWO CAR RIDES IN ONE DAY! On the way back home Mom asked if I wanted to sit in front and I didn't, but I think Mom wanted some company in the front so I hopped up front with Mom. Mom told me I was a really good dog and she was very happy she brought me both times for company. The airconditioner was colder up front and it made me sleepy so I curled up on the seat and layed my head on Mom's purse and she petted my head. She asked if I had fun and I gave her the "VERY MUCH! I LOVE YOU MOM!" tail wag. When we got home Sasha was REALLY jealous. Mom said if she wasn't such a butthead she could have gone, too. Mom told her she needs to stop being so stuckup and whiney like ME!
Today, when Mom came home for lunch she got us out some chewies and she gave be a handful instead of jsut my normal one. I hid them throughout the house so that when she gets home I can sit on the couch and chew on them with her and I don't have to worry about Sasha stealing all my chewies. Before Mom left she told me thank you for being such a good dog. OH and this morning the alarm clocks went off and so I got up on the bed on Mom's side and me, Mom and Dad had some major morning cuddles and then Dad told me I was being very good and then he told me thank you for being so calm. Hold on I have to take some breathes before I pass out........okay I'm okay now.
Thank you to everybnody that sent my Dad get better vibes. He has Bronchitas and Sinitus. He's on some medicine and blows his nose a lot. He's doing a little better, but he still isn't feeling very good. He's decided to stop smoking too! He started taking some other drug that some coworkers told him about and hopefully that will work. He's really excited about stopping, but that is going to mess up our nightly routine! I hope he still comes outside with us when it's time to go potty at night! I didn't think of that part! Oh well, as long as he's feeling better and heathy. Dad told me that with the money he'll save from not buying cigarettes he can afford to do more cool stuff to the Jeep and buy me more stuff! WOOHOOO!!!!!!
Okay, I am really tired now and it's really hot again so I'm going to go take a nap now. Hope all of you had a great weekend, too!

Sick Dad

Dad is sick now! Dad never gets sick! I took care of him yesterday and he's feeling worse today so he's going to the doctor. Dad NEVER goes to the doctor! Mom is going to come get him to take him. This is totally backwards! Dad is the one that takes Mom to the doctor! Dad took a nap yesterday and that's when we knew he was really sick. He NEVER takes naps unless he doesn't feel good. I'm really good at making Mom feel better, but I seem to only annoy my Dad when he isn't feeling good. I don't know what to do for him. I know exactly what to do for Mom. I'm not used to Dad being sick! Hopefully the doctor will be able to help him. I'm so stressed out! I'm going to go see if Dad will give me some of those wonderful treats Mom made me...I mean Sasha and I.

Delicious Treats!!

You all need to get someone to make these treats for you if you already haven't. I foudn it in the recipe section on DWB. Sherman, Penny & Lola's mom posted it and I am sooooooooooo happy she did! Mom did a bunch of baking this weekend and did these for us. My mom is soooo awesome!
Here's the recipe:
Cheesy cookies
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese
2 cups rolled oats (or other flour...buckwheat, spelt or brown rice flours are my own personal preference.)
2 eggs
2 good shakes garlic powder
2 splashes warm water

smoosh everything in a bowl until it forms a dough-like consistancy (should hold together). Add warm water a splash at a time if too dry...shouldn't be too wet though. *press into a foil lined, EVOO covered (for easy clean up), cookie sheet *bake at 350 for 30 - 40 minutes. *cut into 1/2 inch sized cubes with a pizza cutter.

I copied it pretty much how it is on DWB so all of you can follow it just like my mom did so you'll get the same results my mom did! they are soooooooooooooooooooo good! I'll do almost any trick for them! There is a problem with them though. Dad thinks they're kind of tasty. He says they taste better warm though. I don't care about the temperature, they're good any temperature! I need to have Mom make some for my friends (poor Korra still has to deal with that annoying puppy Chase, Korra definately needs a special treat).
Thanks to Sherman, Penny & Lola's mom!!!!! I'm not a drooler, but using Nanook's Newfy Drool-o-meter method I give you simultaneous-ropes-to-the-floor (that's the highest ranking!!)
I'm going to go watch for Mom to come home and give us more. She should be home in 2 and a half yours! I can't wait!!

Google Searches

I decided to check on Google searches that led to my blog again and I think this time they are much better.
The first one is milk bones and milkbone recall. I was very sad about the milk bone recall. Our bag of milkboknes wasn't in the recall but Mom and Dad didn't want to take any chances and they haven't replaced the bag they got rid of. As soon as I figure out how to write, I'm adding milkbones to the shopping list. Mom mentioned the other day that we haven't gotten our lunch time milkbone in a long time. DUH! That's why we're starving by the time she gets home from work at night and gives us dinner.
The second one is hot tub neighborour new neighbors have a hot tub which I'm thinking is like a swimming pool. Mom says she's pretty sure they wont' let me in it because I'll clog the filters. I don't know what that means, but I'm sure they'll let me. I don't think there's any water in it yet though so once I think there's water in it, I'm going to start using my black lab charm, nobody can resist that!
The third one I feal a little guilty about. It is cheating moms. My mom wasn't really cheating on my dad. I just didn't know Harry Potter was a movie and a book. I know my Mom would never really cheat on my Dad. They love each other a bunch and have fun together.
The fourth one I'm kind of confused about. It is kaos it. I don't know what that means. Kaos really isn't a verb, but if you make my name into a verb by things I love to do then it could mean a lot of things. It could mean "fetch it," "hunt it," "hug it," "wrestle it," "eat it," and "smile it." I hope that person found whatever they were looking for.

Okay, now i have a question for all of you. Do any of you know what OCD or ubsestive combulsive dissorder is? My Dad says I have this dissorder thing and I don't know what it means. I think it has something to do with playing fetch because that's usually when he says it. It doesn't matter if I'm outside with my outside toys and balls or inside with my rope. If any of you know what this is or know if it's a good thing or a bad thing, could you let me know.
Have a great weekend everybody!

Cranky Mom

Still nothing exciting going on here. Dad is home working on the Jeep again. I dont' think we're going to get to go camping this summer, but hopefully we'll get to go somewhere clse by to play. There's also always snow jeeping this winter!
Mom is in a bad mood this morning. I couldn't even cheer her up and I can always cheer her up. She says it's her job that makes her grumpy. I'm still working on finding her a job that she can do while scratching my ears. I'm not coming up with anything though. Mom gets really excited when she goes to check the mail which worried me. I thought there was another Harry Potter coming because that's how the last one came. Dad keeps telling Mom "You just mailed it 2 days ago!" I had no idea what they were talking about until I heard Mom saying that when it comes she's going to clean her car really good to celebrate. Mom mailed her last payment on her car. She wasn't scheduled to send the last one until November, but Mom and Dad figured things out and mailed the last payment Tuesday. Mom bought her car before she met Dad because her other car died and she was tired of pying for car repairs on cars she hated. That was 5 years ago and Mom is really excited about paying it off. She loves her car (personally I like the Jeeps better)and even though they're talking about buying Mom a Jeep, Mom says she's keeping her car - at least for awhile. Hopefully, it will come soon and then Mom will forget how crappy her job is for awhile.
I'm going to go see how far Dad has gotten. He's supposed to finish the inside today so he can get the transmission ready for Sunday. I can't wait to go on the test drive!

Remember Me?

Here's a picture to help you remember who I am. I found out that I don't have to worry about Harry Potter! When Mom went to see him, it wa a movie and that book she was reading was Harry Potter. Mom finished it last Thursday and then gave it to Aunt Cassie. I'm glad it's not in the house right now. When it was here, Mom spent way too much time with it. I see I'm not the only one that was neglected because of some book.
Nothing really exciting has been going on. Mom is in a bad mood because of work, Dad is working on the Jeep a lot, Gunnar is better so I can wrestle with him now, Sasha isn't feeling good (I think she's faking it because she has moments when she forgets she's not feeling good) and we never see Aunt Cassie anymore because she has a boyfriend now. It doesn't look like we're going to be going camping. The Jeep isn't going as fast as we had hoped and the summer is almost over (Mom won't go camping after August because she gets too cold). It's a bummer, but now I'm focussing on going pheasant hunting and visiting Grandma & Grandpa Cheese. I can't wait!
I'm going to go wrestle with Gunnar now. He needs the workout and I need to burn off some built up energy.

I Think My Mom's Cheating On Dad!

Friday night Mom went out by herself to see some guy named Harry Potter. Dad didn't seem too worried about it, but I was! Mom and Dad hardly ever go anywhere at night without the other one! This Harry Potter guy must ear popcorn butter as calonge because Mom smelled like popcorn when she got home. Then the next day Mom kept talking about how she couldn't wait until Harry Potter got here! He was coming to our house while Dad was home!! I guess Dad made him go away before he got in the house since he was working on the Jeep in the driveway because nobdy came to the house until later that night and they were all people I knew and love. I guess Mom got mad because she's been reading a book now instead of paying attention to us. At lunch she wouldn't help me find my rope. She said to find it on my own, she was reading!! This is not like her!!! If I ever find out who this Harry Potter guy is, he's going to wish he'd never met me!
I'm going to go watch to see if he tries to sneak into my house while Dad is gone.

It's Too Hot Again

ONce again it's too hot to do anything. It finally rained lat night so today is cooler and tomorrow is supposed to be cooler, but it's still hot. Dad is home again today so we've been working on the Jeep, but when it gets too hot we have to stop. It's really frustrating because there's so much work that needs to be done and August is almost here!
Gunnar took his last pill this morning. Mom is hoping that he stays healthy this time. I think he will because he is pretty much back to himslef. we still haven't wrestled in awhile, but I bet he's strong enough. He's back to hangingin out in the bathroom window all day, sleeping on Mom's legs at night, begging for food and waking everybody up in the morning. It was nice not hearing him whine all the time, but it made Mom whine so I guess it's better he's feeling better. They're pretty sure it was him stealing Sasha's food that made him sick.It used to be that Mom and Dad would put out our 3 bowls and then we could eat whenever we wanted. Gunnar and I eat right away, but Sasha would pull her Princess routine and eat whenever she felt like it which meant Gunnar would get into the bowl. That has now changed. If Shasha doesn't eat at the scheduled time, she waits for the next meal. Yesterday she didn't get breakfast, but she thought she could talk Mom into giving her her bowl but Mom didn't cave! Mom is always the one we go to when we want out of a punishment early! I was afraid maybe Mom's sympathy for her us was stored in her gallbladder and when they took it out, they took the sympathy, too. Thankfully Mom said she's tired of taking Gunnar to the vet so Sasha is just going to have to get over the eating when she feel slike it thing. When dinner was put out last night, boy was she hungry! She started to go sit on the couch with Mom, but Mom siad she better eat because it was a really long time until breakfast. HA!
It sounds like Dad is home from going and picking up some parts so I better get back out and help him. If I don't post tomorrow, then have a great weekend everybody!

Working On The Jeep

Dad and I are working on the Jeep today. I really wish he would hurry up and get it finished! July is almost half gone and I still have not gone camping yet! I think Mom needs to get out into the woods where there's nobody to bother her, too. She's having BIG trouble at work and comes home grumpy and sad. I decided to help Dad so the work will go faster so we can take Mom on a fun trip soon. She's feeling very good and Gunnar's doing better now (I have a funny story about that) so Mom won't feel guilty about leaving him. Once the Big Jeep is done Dad and I have to change the clutch in Aunt Cassie's Jeep so that she can go with us, too.
Gunnar is feeling lots better. Mom is still worried about when he goes off his medicine. He finished one and is still on the pills. When Mom goes to her doctor's appointment next week, they're going to stop at Petsmart and look at somestuff to give him. I'm really getting tired of Gunnar hoggin the water dish. He's figured out that if he sits at the water dish and drinks, then Mom won't shoot water down his throat. Mom has also noticed the difference in the litter box. It's hilarious to Dad, Sasha, Gunnar and I. She'll go in to start cleaning and you'll hear "Holy Cow Gunnar! You almost created a flood in here!" We all laugh for hours!! This morning Mom was trying to give Gunnar his pill and I guess it didn't go so well. I was outside, but I could hear the meowing and screaming. (Mom says Gunnar's teeth are EXTREMLY sharp! DUH! I've been saying that for the last 2 years!) Mom said he would hold it in his mouth like he swallowed it and then all of a sudden spit it out. Mom went and got water to shoot in his throat to make him swallow and if worked, but that was after 6 times of him spitting it out and her having to rinse it off once. Mom came outside when she was done and she was covered in water and when I came inside Gunnar was wet and kept giving Mom really dirty looks. Sasha attacked him and told him to shape up. Mom said that he started to choke on the pill and she started panicking because she didn't know if she could give a cap the hymlic. He coughed a few times and everything was fine. Mom said there's only 6 more pills left, and the next 6 days should be an adventure.
I'm sure all of you know Dory. She's my soulmate sister. We are so similar, it's creepy sometimes. Well, she nominated me for theRockin' Girl Blogger award! It's given to really cool girls that blog. Once you receive the aard, you're supposed to nominate 7 girl bloggers for the award. So here's my list of nominees:
Ginger is a Colorado dog just like me!
Girl Girl is definatley a very cool blogging girl.
Coco is just so cute!!
Luckie is also one of my favorite girl bloggers.
Hana is a cool bloggin girl, too.
Sunshade is a cool blogging girl and always makes me laugh!
I think that's only 6, but I think everybody else has been nominated. If you haven't been nominated consider yourself my number 7!
I have to go help Dad some more now. Have a great weekend everybody!

Google Searches

There's quit a few of you doing the Google search thing and after seeing all of yours' I was afraid of even looking at my searches, but Mom got curious and THANK DOGNESS I didn't have any creepy ones and there were only 2 for July.
The first one is kaos ride at hershey. I really have no idea what that is supposed to be. I hope they foudn what they were looking for, cuz it definately wasn't here! I would never ride Hershey! I'd hurt Hershey if I tried that and I definately wouldn't want to do that! So there's my weird one.
Here's a cool one: dog schmakos. Schmakos are WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE Schmakos!! My favortie is the bacon ones that look like bacon. I will do anything for a Schmakos. Mom says it's kind of like Scooby-Doo and Scooby Snacks (Mom is a Scooby-Doo freak.). You definately should check out their website Schmakos.com Right now they have a dollar off coupon you can use to try them, a couple years ago they did a thing where they gave away free samples! Their catch phrase line thingy is "Dogs go wack for schmakos." Trust me, you'll definately go wacko!! I've tried them all and my favorite is definately the bacon ones and I also really like the bone marrow shaped ones. The others are good, too but Mom and Dad know to get Sasha and I those and we'll do any trick they want for those. We'll even take a bath if we're told we'll get a handful afterwards. Last night Dad had us showing off for Aunt Cassie and one of Dad's friends and I rolled over several times and danced really high for a couple. Sasha rolled over so many times I think she was dizzy. the package looked a little low though. I better make sure Mom checks on that and puts them on the shopping list.
I'm going to go dream about Schmakos now until Mom gets home from work. I bet I can talk her into giving me one. Last night she kept saying she wasn't going to play tug-of-war with me, but I used my puppy eyes on her and she played several times. I am sooooooo glad she's feeling better. Gunanr is feeling better, too. He's almost better enough to wrestle with me again.

4th of July and Mom's Interview

4th of July wasn't very fun. My friend Korra's parents brough her new sister Chase instead of Korra and I found out I didn't like Chase at all. Sasha really didn't like her at all either and ended up in Mom's arms trembling for a long time. Sasha and I spent a lot of time inside instead of out in the back yard with the kids and food. I was not happy.
I decided to do the interview thing with Mom today. I've got a few questions for her and I think this is the best way to get the answers. Here we go:
Kaos (K): Hey Mom!
Mom (M): What?
K: Come here!
M: Why?
K: I want to interview you.
M: Oh no.
K: Why do you say oh no.
M: Because I've read some of the others dogs interviewing their moms.
K: Don't worry. I won't ask anything embarassing.
M: Yeah right.
K: Okay, lets start with what do you do for a job?
M: I'm a marketing director for a real estate office.
K: Do you like your job?
M: Sometimes. Right now it's really crazy because I'm doing the marketing assistant and marketing director jobs. In January I was promoted to marketing director, but they never hired anybody to take on my old job.
K: That doesn't sound fun. I really like you being home on a 5 day weekend.
M: I liked it too. I liked being able to take Gunnar to the vet again yesterday and not having to worry about who was going to be there to answer the phones and worrying about how much time it was taking.
K: You should do that everyday then! Not take Gunnar to the vet, but stay with us.
M: I wish I could, but we need my paycheck to help support you and Sasha and Gunnar.
K: After this interview, we should do a search to find you a job you can do while you're scratching my ears.
M: lol, okay.
K: You said Gunnar had to go to the vet again, now what's going on? Obviously the bladder thing isn't gone because the house smells again.
M: He isn't blocked up anymore, he's just so inflamed and sore that he still feels like he's blocked. He's on a couple new medicines andI have to force him to drink water.
K: Why? I thought he was really good at drinking water.
M: He usually is, but Thursday evening he stopped drinking and eating so I have to make sure he gets water so it can flush the bad stuff out of his system. He's eating a little bit finally.
K: I saw you had a can of food and it smelled like fish. I thought he couldn't have either!!
M: He can't, but he isn't eating so the doctor told me to go ahead and try it. And what do you mean you saw and smelled it? You ate it when I wasn't looking.
K: I was taking care of the family! I've heard about him eating canned food and fish! The 2 combined could have killed us!
M: He doesn't like it anyway. He won't eat it if it's in his dish so I'm only giving him the dry stuff now because he'll eat a little of that.
K: Okay, enough about Gunnar. This is supposed to be about you. I know some of your hobbies include scratching my ears, scratching my belly and art stuff. Why won't you make playing fetch one of your hobbies.
M: I play fetch with you all the time!
K: But you always stop before I'm done.
M: That's because you'll play fetch until your legs fall off! Nobody can last that long!
K: But it's sooooo much fun!! Maybe if you played more, you'd realize all the enjoyment it could bring you.
M: Kaos, I play fetch with you several times a day. There is no way I could play fetch with you anymore than I do now without giving up making dinner, taking care of Gunnar and Sasha and doing pretty much everything else I do in a day.
K: If you say so.
M: Kaos! You better be nice or I'm going back to doing laundry.
K: Okay, next question. Why don't we live closer to Grandma?
M: What are you talking about?
K: If we lived closer to Grandma, we would get to see her a lot more! She could tell us how good we are and pet us and scratch our ears and other Grandma stuff.
M: Kaos, Grandma lives 4 blocks away and you see her a lot! It's Grandma Cheese that lives far away, but you get to see her a lot more now that Aunt Cassie moved out here.
K: 4 blocks means nothing to me, I want to live next door to Grandma!
M: Kaos, 4 blocks is close enough to Grandma. She still spoils you a lot and gives you lots of love from 4 blocks away.
K: Okay. When are we going to go camping?
M: Hopefully in August. Dad has to get the Jeep put back together first. He also has to fix Aunt Cassie's Jeep.
K: So we're only going to do 1 trip this year?
M: Yes, Dad had to spend a lot of time helping me after my surgery so he didn't get to work on the Jeep as much.
K: By the way, how's your healing goin?
M: Great. The stitches have started dissolving so I can do tons more now than I could do a week ago.
K: And you're feeling better now than before your surgery?
M: TONS! I can't believe I was living like that! I had a bad doctor before, but now I have all good doctors so they take really good care of me and I'm feeling completely different.
K: So you'll have more energy to play fetch with me?
M: Kaos....
K: I know. So when are you going ot have your art stuff updated on your website so I can brag about you like Dad and Grandma do?
M: Hopefully soon. I don't like working on it at night because I spend so much time on the computer at work, I don't want to look at one when I get home.
K: That makes sense. You should hurry and get that updated so I can show it to everybody. Maybe they'll all know someone that would like to buy your stuff and then you could just stay home with us and do artwork all the time.
M: That'd be great.
K: Okay, one more question. How can I get some kids?
M: I knew you'd ask that! That's why I said oh no!
K: Well, now that's it's asked everybody is waiting for you to answer it. They all know how bad I want kids so it's time to let them know how long you're going to torture me with the wait.
M: You're aren't being tortured!! I don't know about the kids thing. I have to take care of some medical stuff.
K: But what abou that biological clock of your's, I hear those kinds of clocks don't last long and they have something to do woth kids.
M: Kaos! I think we're going to have to start locking up the computer during the day so you can't surf the internet anymore! My biological clock is fine, we just have to make sure that I am healthy first so that way we know the baby will be healthy, too.
K: I don't want a baby though, I want a kid to play fetch with like the neighbors.
M: Kaos, this isn't really the place to explain how the process works, but every kid starts out as a baby, just like every dog starts out as a puppy.
K: (long pause) Bummer!
M: You have lots of kids to play with you right now though. You don't worry about the kids thing anymore.
K: What about Aunt Cassie and Grandma Cheese? They worry about it, too!
M: Kaos......never mind. Are we almost done yet?
K: I guess. Do you think I could train a baby to play fetch? Puppies are trainable and humans are supposedly smarter than dogs.
M: Maybe, I don't know. I really need to go now.
K: I haven't hear the dryer buzzer yet.
M: You need to get caught up on reading everybody's blogs and updating your blog. It's been a few days since you went to check in with Flash, too.
K: OH YEAH, okay, gotta go check in with Flash. Bye everybody! Hope you all had a better 4th of July than I did (I will admit I did have lots of fun before Chase got there and I still got to see everybody I wanted to and they told me what a good dog I was and all sorts of good stuff about me. I also got a few potato chips, a hamburger and some hotdog. I also accidently got an olive and that will be the last olive I ever get. That was disgusting!)

What A Weekend!!!

I had a big weekend! It started off Friday night when the neighbor guy brought all 3 kids over because their Mom broke her arm and so we took care of the kids while they went to the hospital! I had a blast!!! Mom says they're coming over for 4th of July!! I had sooooo much fun with the kids there! I wish there were kids at my house all the time!!! THEN Saturday Aunt Cassie came over to help get ready for the party even though she won't be there (isn't she nice?). We worked out in the yard most of the day and Mom ended up overdoing it a little because she was really sore. Her stitches still haven't started dissolving yet and it's driving her crazy because she's tired of not being able to do stuff. Then we went inside and did some stuff inside the house. I helped Dad vacuum, Gunnar helped with the bathroom and Sasha guarded the dust bunnies under the bed (she's afraid of the vacuum). THEN later Mom said "OH! Kaos, I forgot we got you some new toys." SHE FORGOT?!?!?!?!!? My new inside toy is a rope that's tied in a ring. I don't like it in a ring shape so I'm working on making it a normal rope shape. My new outside toy is really cool. Here's a picture. Dad was going to take the yellow rope off, but Mom said no because that will help with the slobber problem. I have no idea what she was talking about, but she played fetch with me a lot longer than she usually does and she threw it a lot further so I'm okay with the slobber rope.
THEN, we combined my new toy with WATER!!!! Look at how much fun I had!

That last picture is blurry because I was running right at Mom really really fast.
I tried hiding behind Mom a couple time to take a break and it worked at first, then Dad started spraying Mom, too.
Dad tried to get Sasha to play, but she hid under the table instead. She also hid in the bushes, but Mom couldn't get a picture of her in the bushes (mostly because she was dodging a big wet dog and then the hose).
Later we went inside to play with my new inside toy. Mom played a bad trick on my by throwing my rope in the clothes basket where I had trouble reaching it. I showed them! It only took a bunch of whining and lots of laughing frrom Mom and Dad before I figured out how to get it out.

I got tired of playing that game so I took a break, but held onto my new toy so nobody would steal it.

It was a good thing we took it easier yesterday because I don't think Mom and I had the energy to do any more stuff like that.
Mom and I are going to start working on the food to night. I can't wait!!! There is going to be lots of food, lots of kids and a water fight!!!!!!!!! I think Fourth of July is going to be one of my most favorite holidays!!!!!!
Mom is taking the 5th and 6th off because she's getting burnt out at work and we decided we're going to work on my blog a little (I need to add a bunch more friends to my links) and we're going to work on her art website so I can finally share it with you.
I'm going to go kick Gunnar out of the cool spot in the dining room now. Mom will be home in about an hour and a half and I have to be all rested for when she comes home and needs my help.
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

It's Hard To Be Good When It's This Hot

Last night I chewed Sasha's favorite toy (I'd show you pictures if Mom had rememebred to take her camera to work to get the pictures off of it) and then today I got into the trash (really wish I hadn't done that, there wasn't anything good). It's too hot. I think Mom and Dad shoudl bring my swimming pool in the house and set it up. Mom says no way! I don't understand why though. Dad was talking about watering the yard this weekend to try to make it so the dust isn't so bad for the bbq. I'm hoping that means he'll set up the sprinkler so I can have fun like Sparky did. He looks like he was having so much fun!
I decided to do the meme thing today because it's too hot to come up with anything exciting to talk about, mostly because nothting exciting has happened because it's too hot.

1. Your age? appx. 3 years and 4 months

2. Your age when came to live with your people? 1 year and 4 months (I just hit 2 years with my family! WOOHOO!)

3. What color is the collar you’re wearing right now? florecent orange with green camo spots

4. Who is your favorite person other than the people you live with? Grandma, Grandma & Grandpa Cheese, Aunt Cassie, the neighbors that play fetch with me a lot, my camping buddies - it's hard to just pick one.

5. How much do you weigh? A lady doesn't tell her weight! It's somewhere around 60-70 pounds.

6. Most expensive thing you’ve ever chewed up? The only thing I chew up (besides chewies) are Mom's pens

7. Do you like other Dogs? As long as they are being nice and not threatening my family.

8. Who is your best non-human friend? Sasha (my sister), Corra (my friend), Bailey (my cousin) and Scout (my hunting buddy, but as soon as he starts trying to hump me, I don't like him until he starts being good again)

9. Squeaky Toys or Tennis Balls? I have to choose between one of those? I guess it's tennis balls because I'm a fetching freak! Squeaky toys are a very close second.

10. Do you like to be brushed? Nope

11. Peanut Butter or Cheese? MAN! Once again I have to choose between 2 of my favorite things. I think I like cheese more, but once again peanut better is a very close second

12. Do your people cut your toenails? Yeah, but if possible they take me to the place where Sasha gets her haircuts.

13. Any formal education? Nope, I learned everything I know on my own or from my Mom and Dad

14. Couch potato or Energizer Bunny? Definately Energizer Bunny

15. Five nicknames your people call you. Black Dog, Big Dog, Butthead (meant in a loving way of course), Silly Girl, Huntin' Dog

16. What is your best trick? Mom says my roll over is pretty great, Dad likes my jump for kisses without touching him, but I have to say my best trick is to speak to go outside. hehehehe Dad taught me that before he went hunting last year and it's annoyed Mom ever since.

17. Do you like kitties? I like my cat brother and as long as the cat isn't doing anything bad or threating then they're okay. There's a mean grey cat in our neighborhood that's REALLY mean and wild. Mom LOVES cats and she hates that cat so that says a bunch!

18. What did you have for breakfast? My Dry Food

19. Can you hunt (aka have you ever killed anything living)? If so, what? I've never killed anything, but I'm really good at flushing birds and rabbits for others. I once flushed a deer!! I also don't fetch dead animals, they taste too yucky! Sasha is the one that kills last year she got 3 finches and a squirrel and then carried them to the house for Mom.

20. When & why was the last time you went to the V.E.T.? A year ago for my shots

21. Where do you sleep at night? I start off on the bed with Mom until Dad is ready for bed, then I get in my bed on the floor right below Dad.

22. Do you like to swim? The answer to this questions is a HUGE YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

23. Can you make puppies? No

24. Your favorite place to visit? Grandma's, Grandma & Grandpa Cheese's house and camping places with water nearby

25. Do you give kisses? Yes. Mom says I give the bestest hugs and kisses ever!

26. Can you potty on command? Yes, but I don't.

27. To Cuz or not to Cuz? If my Mom and Dad would buy me one then I think I would say to cuz, but right now it's not to cuz.

If you'd like to play, copy the questions, paste them onto your blog and tell us all about YOU!!

Have a great weekend everybody (especially by boyfriend Flash)! I'll be busy getting ready for the party and hopefully playing in my swimming pool.

Too Hot

I don't have a good excuse for not blogging this week. The excuse I have is that it's too hot. It's too had to do anything but lay on the couch under the airconditioner vent or in the bedroom under the air conditioner vent on the hardwood floor. I have to be really careful when I'm out because I'm black which means I get hot faster. The good thing is, Mom has been squirting me with the house which means tons of fun (if she could figure out how to do it without getting the camera soaking wet, she'd get a picture because she says I'm hilarious) and if I get squirted with the water, I don't get as hot so I can stay out and play more.
Mom is dong pretty good. Her job is stressing her out, but health wise she's feeling better and her incisions are healing up pretty good. Once the stitches start dissolving she'll be able to do more. Gunnar is pretty much better, too. I'm mad at him though for stressing Mom out so bad. All weekend he kept being mean to Mom even though she was trying to help. I told him off a couple of times and spent lots of time playing with Mom and sleeping under the air conditioner vents. He's still taking medicine, but the house doesn't stink anymore and he's going to the litter box instead of wherever he sits. This morning Gunnar finally let Mom scratch him and give him hugs and kisses. I think he figured out he better be nice to Mom again because she's the one that usually feeds him and if he misses a meal, we all suffer!Hopefully once it cools down he'll curl up with Mom at night.
This weekend I am going to be really really busy. We're having a party for the 4th of July at my house and we need to get the house cleaned and the backyard cleaned up so everybody can come see me! There's going to be lots of people here. The neighbor kids are coming, the kids I go camping with are coming, some of my favorite adults are going to be there, too. Mom and Dad even invited the new neighbors. I'm not too sure about them yet because they don't have any kids to play fetch with me and they don't have any dogs to play with me. They seem nice. They also have a hot tub in their yard. Mom says it will be filled with warm water once they get everything hooked up for it. Right now warm water doesn't sound so good, but in the winter that will be fun to play in the water and not get cold. I wonder if they'll let me play in their hot tub. Have any of you ever played in a hot tub before? Mom said while we're working hard in our yard this weekend, she'll put water in my pool again so I can cool off while we're working. My Mom's so nice! Hopefully Mom will have pictures of all the fun I'll be having during the bbq. There's going to be tons of food and lots of little kids to give me food. WOOHOO!! I love having the kids around. Mom said she'd try to find the squirt guns and we'll fill my pool so the kids can have a water fight (the guns are tiny so nobody gets soaking wet). I hope they squirt me lots! I can't wait for the kids to come!!!!! I really need to talk to Mom and Dad about getting me some kids to play with. If anybody has any advice on how to talk Mom and Dad into this, let me know. I'm very jealous of all of you that have kids.
I'm going to read some blogs now and then go back to the air conditioner vent. Mom didn't come home for lunch today to let us out because she's really busy trying to get caught up and I don't care that she didn't come home because it's too hot outside anyway. When she comes home after work, hopefully it will be cooler. OH!!!! Mom said that she's taking the 5th and 6th off from work to take a break. That means 5 whole days Mom will be home with me!!!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!
Okay, now I really need to go read some blogs and go take a nap under the air conditioner. I am soooooo glad Mom and Dad leave the air conditioner running for us all day.
PS Hi Flash!!!! I got your message about not feeding cats kibble and Mom said before I joined the family they found out Gunnar can't digest the wet food properly. I'm glad I wasn't here for that. The good thing is, Gunnar drinks a lot of water (especially when he's sick which Mom thinks is weird). Mom is still going to keep an eye on him with this new food and do some research on some other foods for him. Mom thought about trying wet food again, but we jsut got the house to not smell again, I think she should wait. Mom's pretty sure it wasn't the food he eats that caused this but, because he eats Sasha's food. Sasha doesn't always eat when she's supposed to and then Gunnar comes and eats her food. Now, Sasha has to eat when it's put out or they put it away and she has to wait until the next meal. Sasha's learning fast to eat when she's supposed to or she has to wait a long time. Okay, I'm going now. Gotta go get caught up on reading blogs so I can be ready for Flash Friday!

Gunnar

Mom is feeling very guilty today because Gunnar had to go to the vet this morning. Last night he was acting even weirder. He was hissing at me for no reason at all. Dad went to get after him for hissing for now reason and Mom yelled "NO there's something wrong, look at him!" He was really really stiff and stood still and then Dad picked him up and he sat on Dad's lap for a long time. Dad went to take a shower and Gunnar went and hid under the dining room table and any time Mom got near him he hissed and walked away from her. I comforted Mom and told her it was okay. She was upset because the rest of us go to Mom when we don't feel good or are hurt and Gunnar was pulling away. We all went to bed pretty late and then Gunnar came in a layed on Mom's feet and Mom spent all night feeling to make sure he was okay. This morning Mom got up early and then worried until she could finally call the vet at 7:30. They wanted Mom to bring him it at 2:45 this morning until she told them he hadn't peed for at least 8 hours and they said to bring him earlier and they'd work him in. Gunnar had been sitting on Dad's lap for awhile and Mom told the lady one of his symptoms was that he was cuddling. I thought it was funny for a symptom to be something I do a bunch. Gunnar got off Dad's lap and he had peed on Dad!!! and guess what! Dad didn't get mad!!! There was a little white spot on the shorts and Dad put it in a baggy to take with them and then Gunnar went in the computer room and kept peeing everywhere. After about 25 minutes Mom told Dad it was time to go. She couldn't take it any longer. Gunnar ended up scratchng Dad because he didn't want to go in the carrier and then you should have heard him yowl once he was outside. Gunnar is terrified to go outside and he was going to let the entire neighborhood know it.
At the vets office they got him in really quick and then Gunnar said that the doctor kept squeezing his bladder and said he was going to stick a needle in him to get a urine sample and Gunnar said no way and pee-ed all over the exam table. He said he volunteered a urine sample so they wouldn't poke him with a needle. Makes sense to me! They ran some tests and he had crystals which means he has to take some nasty medicine that he makes funny faces while he's eating and he has to eat a special kind of food that's kind of expensive. Mom and Dad left the baby gate down the blocks me from going into the litter box and threatened me with no fetch for a week if I got in there!! Gunnar is the one that is peeing all over the house and I'm the one being told to be good?!?!?!?!
Mom told Sasha she better thank Gunnar for getting sick because she was supposed to get a haircut and her shots with that $100 she spent on him. Next month she better watch out though.
Mom feels guilty because she mistook his bad attitude for grumpiness about the bathtub instead of him being sick. She also feels guilty because while she's been getting better, she thinks we've been neglected and that's why Gunnar got sick. She realized last night that his litter box hasn't been cleaned for quit awhile and Mom is very picky about the length of time a litter box goes without being cleaned. I told Mom this isn't her fault at all. If she hadn't had the surgery then she would get even sicker and then she would have been in really bad shape and wouldn't be able to take care of us at all. I plan on spending the weekend making sure she gets lots of love. I home Mom stops and picks up some airfresheners before she comes home, too because the house smells bad, especially this room. I'm going to go in the bathroom now and figure out how to get up in the window for some fresh air now. Gunnar does it all the time, surely I'll figure it out, too.
Have a great weekend everybody!

Don't Push The Cat Into The Bathtub

Trust me on this. No matter how tempting it is or how much fun it is, DO NOT push him in!!! Last night was bath night. Sasha always goes first because she's the smallest and so there was hardly any water in the tub because she's little. Well, Gunnar got up on the edge of the tub to look in and Mom nudged him (yes, Mom is the one that did it! She's feeling very mischievous now that she's feeling good)and at first he didn't do anything, but then he sort of looked like he jumped in on his own, but he says he lost his balance. He was only in the water a few seconds and he left cussing. Mom and Dad laughed. Sasha got her bath and then she got out and then it was my turn. After the baths, Mom's grandma called and Gunnar climbed up on the couch and layed right behind Mom's head and meowed every time she hit him with her ponytail. Mom's grandma asked what was going on and she thought it was funny, too. When it was time for bed, Gunnar got mad because we kicked him off the bed (it was hot and we had to take some of the blankets off - I'm very helpful at taking the blankets off the bed). Gunnar hissed at Dad on his way out of the bedroom. Dad followed him into the living room and asked him what his problem was and Gunnar glared at Dad. Dad laughed and came to bed. This morning Gunnar wanted to cuddle, but he also didn't want anybody to think he wasn't in a bad mood anymore so he cuddled, but he glared and refused to purr and didn't stay very long. I think it's hilarious, especially since I had no involvement what so ever!
It's really hot today. Dad is home working on the Big Jeep so we can go camping soon. Since he's home and working out in the heat he turned the air conditioner on high and turned the big ceiling fan on so he can come in and cool off when ever he needs to. It feels really good in here. I'm not upset about having to stay inside while he's out there working on my Jeep - I mean "the" Jeep. Mom told us she was very jealous of us.
Mom is doing lots better. She's ready for the stitches inside to start dissolving. The doctor they will after 5 weeks and she's only at 2 1/2 right now. She said if the stitches were gone, she'd be able to do more, but the stitches won't let her bend over very far or very long and she has trouble moving because the stitches pull and hurt. Once the stitches start dissolving you might not here from me for a week. She said she's ready to have fun and get out of the house. That means I get to go too (hopefully) and then it will take a couple days for me to recover from all the fun. Mom is really upset with her job, especially since she's so far behind so once the stitches are dissolved enough for her to move okay, I'm going to make sure she's not so stressed out anymore. I'm still going to find a job she can do from home, too. If any of you have any ideas, please let me know.
I'm going to go lay under the ceiling fan now. I can't believe how hot it is! I hope Dad gets my Jeep fixed soon so we can go up into the mountains to play in the nice cool creeks.

I Miss Mom & Details On Grandma Cheese

Mom went back to work yesterday. She said she overdid it though so she's not going in for as long today. I was getting annoyed with her always wanting to talk to me while I was trying to sleep. Now I miss her though. I like having someone home most of the day.
Okay, now the details on my Grandma Cheese. That's just her nickname of course. Grandma Cheese is my Aunt Cassie's Mom. Mom and Aunt Cassie have been best friends since they were in kindergarten (that's around 22 years they've been friends!!!). My mom's mom has never been real nice to my mom (she's the woman that says labs are one of the dumbest breeds)and so Aunt Cassie's Mom and Dad adopted my mom which makes them my Grandma & Grandpa. During the fall we go out to their house for pheasant hunting and while we're there Grandma loves giving us cheese and we love eating cheese!!! When we go out to visit, they make sure they have plenty of cheese for us and when Mom and Dad aren't looking, we get lots of cheese and a little when they are looking. So, that's why Dad nicknamed them Grandma and Grandpa Cheese. I love them lots. They're really nice and love spoiling their grandkids. I didn't get to see Grandma Cheese this weekend, but Grandpa Cheese came over so Dad could fix his car and Sasha and I went out to greet him when he got here. He was really happy to see us.
I'm still trying to get caught up on reading everybody else's posts. It's taking forever on this computer. I'm also trying to find Mom a job she can do from home. She said the other day that she wished she felt better so she could go fill my swimming pool for me.
Mom should be home for lunch pretty soon so I better go watch for her.

Exhausted

Taking care of Mom is really hard. She's bored so she wants to talk to us. I wish she could go outside on her own so she could go talk to her plants instead. Dad doesn't want her out in the yard by herself yet though. Luckily he was home yesterday so I coudl get some sleep. Mom has been on our home computer a little bit and has been complaining about how slow it is. DUH! Why does she think I always have to have her take my pictures to work and upload them there when I want to post a bunch. Sheesh! Mom also decided she is going to start working harder to get a laptop because she doesn't like the computer room or how Dad has the computer set up.
I'm still trying to get caught up on reading all of your blogs. It takes awhile on the computer, especially after Mom has warn it out after checking her email and doing stuff on it for herself. She is thinking about going back to work on Monday so she can get caught up a little and so she can read her email faster. She can't go upstairs yet and that's where her office is, but another lady is on vacation right now so she can borrow her desk.
Today is Grandma Cheese' birthday and she's supposed to be in town so I hope she comes to visit me! I'll tell you about my grandma cheese later. Someone asked if she's made out of cheese. She's not, she just loves feeding Sasha and I cheese and of course we love when she does that!
There's sounds coming from the new neighbor's house so I have to go check them out now and then hopefully Mom will be ready for another nap.
Have a good weekend everybody!

Update On Mom

Thank you everybody for thinking about Mom and sending her good wishes. Surgery didn't go the way it was planned. Mom was a bunch sicker than everybody thought or that Mom was letting on. The doctor said she had to have been sick for at least 2 years, probably more. The 45 minute surgery ended up taking almost 2 hours AND she had to stay the night! I'm being really careful around her trying not to bump her, but her tummy smells funny and I keep trying to lick it. She's really really sore, but today is much better. She can't go back to work for awhile longer (WOOHOO!) and she still sits a lot. Now that I can get up on the couch, I let her scratch my ears to pass the time. I still can't get up in the bed for a morning snuggle though.
My AO4 training is really paying off, too. The house next door to us was finally sold and the new neighbors moved in the day Mom came home and so I have to get used to the new noises and new people. If I'm in the house and I hear a noise outside, I use my AO4 "woowooowooo" to warn everybody outside that this house is protected. Every time I do the "woowooowooo" Mom laughs and Dad asks why I'm doing that. Obviously they know nothing about home protection! Good thing I'm here!
The night Mom had to stay at the hospital, Dad stayed with her. Good thing, too because Mom had a really rough night. They gave her a BUNCH of liquids through her IV during surgery so she had to pee every hour all night long. The next morning Grandma came and let us out and Aunt Cassie came by at lucnh to let us out, but they wouldn't tell us anything about Mom. That's because Mom wasn't released until after lunch so they didn't know anything. That night and the next night, we locked Mom in the bedroom by herself so nobody would accidently bump her and hurt her. The first night was a little rough, but the next night she slept all night so then we all moved back in the bedroom and slept in our own beds. WOOOOHOOOOOOOOO! I can't wait until we get to do our morning snuggles again!
Mom can do almost everything on her own, but we still have to keep an eye on her and Dad has to help her out of bed in the morning. She can't bend over which means even though she's up walking around and feeling better she can't get the chewies out of the can. I'm going to have to remind Dad to get them out before he leaves for work if he goes to work tomorrow. Dad also won't let Mom take a shower if nobody is home. Mom understands, but she's still trying to get the tape residue and yellow iodine stuff on of her so she wants about 3 showers a day. (Another reason she's crazy! 3 baths in 1 day, I complain if I have 1 every 3 months!) Today she says her cuts itch really bad which means they're healing.
She goes back to the doctor next week so she can get released to go back to work. I think she likes being at home though. I know we really like having her home all day, although it does cut into our normal day of sleeping.
It sounds like she's waking up from her nap, so I better go check on her. Thanks again everybody and hopefully now that I've rested up and I don't have to keep such a close eye on her anymore, I'll get back to posting more. I'll try getting caught up on everybody's blogs now. I have almost a week to catch up on everybody though!!!
