Artsy Fartsy Friday

Hi everybody! This is Kaos' mom. Since she's busy entertaining her cousins, I told her I would make sure I did the post today. She wanted to make sure I got the 2 Thanksgiving themed cross stitch pieces I just finished up today. While I was home for lunch she gave me a list of messages to tell her friends. Here's the list:
1. Kids are great!
2. Kids are awesome!
3. I want my own kids!!!
4. 2 year-olds are the prefect height, especially when they have food in their hands!
5. I love kids.
6. I'm having a lot of fun!
7. I'm exhausted.
8. I need a nap.
9. Kids are cool!
& 10. Kids are messier eaters than Mom and Dad are!!!!!!
I think I got them all. She's having a blast, but I have a feeling by tomorrow afternoon she'll need a timeout not because she's being bad, but because she's going to be to tired to move. After only playing for a few hours last night she was ready to go to bed early (which she didn't get to do) and she wsa out as soon as she flopped onto her bed. Both dogs had a lot of fun sitting under the kids chairs at dinner last night and when I came home for lunch I was told that Sasha snagged a big hunk of cheese as it was accidently dropped at breakfast this morning. The piece of cheese never had a chance with Sasha in the house. I swear she can be dead asleep on the other side of the house and can hear cheese falling and will make it into the room the cheese is falling in before it hits the floor.
Okay, now I'll talk about the artsy stuff. The picture quality isn't very good. I'm not sure why I had so much trouble getting good pictures of these 2. I think these were 2 of my favorite pieces I've ever stitched. There were both a lot of fun and I'm putting them in my "Must Stitch Again" pile. The first one is actually supposed to be something you hang from your doorknob but my mom lost patience trying to teach me to sew and I lost patience with the way she was trying to teach me so I framed it instead. I think next time I'm going to go ahead and try doing the door hanger. Anybody out there know how to teach someone how to sew via email? lol

This next one was the most fun. Doing all the orange got a little boring, but it was totally worth it. I thought this one might look cool as a pillow until I put it in the frame and decided I liked it that was much better (not being able to sew might have to do with that decision though).

I've started working on some squares for Love Quilts. Kaos will share those with you when I finish them.

Kaos or I will try to post on Monday so that you know how much more she loves kids and probably how much she needs a nap. On Thanksgiving day we're going to an uncle's house which is 3 hours there and 3 hours back plus the time we're there so she'll be able to rest up then. Don't worry about her not getting to participate in the Thanksgiving feasting though. We're having a version of Thanksgiving this weekend (we're doing fried chicken instead of the turkey cuz it sounded good last night when we were deciding what to do).

Have a good weekend everybody.

We think those are both beautiful. Sorry though-you'll have to find someone else to help with the sewing! ;)
Man-we can imagine how much fun Kaos is having. And our girl gets to come back this afternoon for another weekend-hooray!
Mom says we'll be there in time for the fried chicken! YUM!
Have fun Lady Kaos!!!

What beWROOtiful cross stiches! The Girl likes to frame hers, too, because she's too impatient to learn how to do something else!

Happy to hear that Kaos is having such a good time with the kids! The Girl's old dog Shea could hear her *thinking* about cheese!

Brown dog kisses,
Dannan

kids do make lots of crumbs and messes for doggies to clean up. I can see why Kaos likes them so much!

Sure Kaos is loving the kids!
Framing them is the best way to display the cross stitch works!

Hi Lady Kaos,

Nice to meet you. Little kids are the perfect height to jump up and give kisses. You have to be gentle though. Actually, it's probably not the best idea. I don't really do that anymore. I still love kids though and they love dogs.

Nice stitching. They must have taken a long time.

The cross stitch are beautiful. Jie jie never have the patient to finish any cross stitch as she find it boring to be sitting there for hours counting and sewing crosses over and over again.

Your work is beautiful.

My Jeannie cannot sew, so she is constantly amazed when anyone produces such good work.

Please give my love to Lady Kaos, tell her I like children, but cannot eat a whole one (oh only joking there of course!) I am very, very well behaved with children!

Wanted to bark to Lady Kaos, I am back blogging for a while at least, we will see how it goes.

Much love and licks,

More artwork! And beautiful, too!

Kaos, maybe you NEED to have some little kids at your house ALL OF THE TIME!

Talk to your dad and mom about it.

I love that turkey one. I can sew a little but can't cross stitch for the life of me
